She better not be seeing what she thinks she is seeing.

I feel like everyone's pressured to have a moral reason to like or dislike something these days and that is so unhealthy.
I'm going to use Ouran Host Club as an example: I am not going to attack anyone for liking the series or feeling a strong sense of nostalgia for the show because you can enjoy things for what they are- Entertainment.
What I get bothered by is when people try to find a way to claim you can't enjoy 'problematic' content because it happens to be problematic in a different context.
Yes, I think media like OHC sort of... made people at large think that the concept of a Host Club is inherently not the issue it is in real life. Yes, Host Clubs are actually run by unsavory people who encourage underaged employees to drink excessively (in order to get the most money from their clients) and manipulate women into giving their Host money outside of the business restrictions that are supposed to keep the establishment from being inherently exploitative. And the prevalence of the Host Club idea in fan-made media sort of just perpetuates this weeby and erroneous belief that stuff that happens in anime is okay outside of the context of anime (kind of like how the prevalence of underaged pornography is just seen as 'oh, that's just how it is in Japan' even though that couldn't be further than the actual truth and that assumption is extremely insulting to Japanese and Japanese-American people). At the same time, that doesn't mean people can't LIKE the series as a piece of fictional media? And people don't necessarily have to be made AWARE of these issues just because they're fans of the series, or else they're 'not consuming media intelligently' or some crap.
There are many issues that are still problems mostly because of their offline counterparts existing as they are, as well as I think the spread of misinformation on fandom-dominated platforms like Tumblr, which goes hand in hand with fans not being able to separate reality from fiction.
I mean, if anyone said "Oh, this is normal for this specific culture cuz I saw it in a cartoon I watched when I was thirteen", you'd balk- Right?
TL;DR- Fiction will be released regardless of it's content or handling of a specific issue with real-life consequences. It's nobody's job to police who consumes what media and whether they are doing so the 'right way'. Fiction and reality are separate domains and while they can influence and have an effect on each other, it's very important to realize that sometimes a story is just that: a story. Nothing more, nothing less.

She watches the Arcanine carefully, examining her every move. Canines are a favourite of hers, clearly, as she holds her own ones dear to her heart. But damn, she hasn’t had an Arcanine, and the desire to just go over to the beast and put her face into the fluff is all too immense.
But she also doesn’t want to lose her nose, so of course doesn’t even go near the Pokémon. Plus, she wants to keep up that façade of being oh so horrible and uncaring. If the other saw her fawning over the monster, well... It may get out she’s a softy in some ways.
“She got a name? Does she bite?”
"Dunno if I've told you this but for my birthday I wanna make you eat a brick."
“ ooh, i can’t wait. i’ve been told i’m good at swallowing all kinds of things you wouldn’t expect to fit in, officer ~ ”

The surprise is only visible on his face for a moment at the intrusion. Puzzlement is soon to replace it, leaning over slightly, looking past the doorway as if to wonder... is it really worth it to work so hard for this exit? Surely there were others.
What was going on?
"A lot. So if ya don't mind."
Waiting patiently. Hands still in his pockets. Whoever this was, he acted like he knew John. Alarm bells were loud, as they always were, and he stepped back. Giving the stranger space.
"Tight schedule, mate. Move."
“Oh, sorry- I’m being rude, huh?”
The redhead lowers his leg and pivots his body to allow the other man to continue walking. Primal blithely keeps pace with him and claps a large hand against Looker’s rightmost trench coat covered shoulder.
“Now we can talk, yayyy~ ♥” he singsongs, a literal skip in his step as he tightens the grip of his forearm around the elder male’s neck, squeezing and flexing his muscles like the thick coils of a python.
“You sure did a number on my friend, which is like- Wow! Here I was expecting someone real interesting, right? Anybody who manages to get a drop on Proton has to be pretty strong... but all I see some washed up old dude, it’s so weird?”
“Welp, can’t be helped... Guess I’ll hafta kill ya!”
