Punk Music Has an Unacknowledged Debt to Latinx Refugees

Young punks found refuge in DC’s refugee community.

I knew some of this - LA bands finding a haven in Asian-owned spaces - but not the DC side of the story. Both fascinating and aggravating, the latter because even politically 'woke' bands of the time seem not to have felt the need to acknowledge the debt owed to POC for helping the scene get it's start.
