Wrecker groaned, “First the bounty hunter on Pantora and now this guy? Why are they all after the kid?”
“Because she is more valuable than we realized,” Tech said, “I further analyzed Omega’s genetic profile and discovered she has pure, first-generation DNA.”
“Like Jango Fett’s? You mean, unaltered?” Saachi asked.
“Precisely.” Saachi took the datapad from Tech, only for her headache to make a piercing reappearance, as she stared into the glowing blue light. She forced it away, comparing the information that Tech had on Omega’s DNA and that of Jango Fett’s.
“Wait, w-what does that mean?” Wrecker asked.
“While our genetic structure was modified for growth acceleration and obedience, Omega is a pure, genetic replication.”
“How many clones like that exist?” Hunter asked, looking over Saachi’s shoulder at the datapad. Saachi handed it to him.
“To my knowledge, there’s only one other– a male clone code-named ‘Alpha’, later referred to as ‘Boba’.”
“Since he disappeared at the start of the war, that makes Omega the sole living source of Fett’s raw genetic material.” Saachi said. She rubbed her temples, trying to make her headache go away.
“If she’s vital to the Kaminoans’ cloning operation, they must have put the bounty on her!” Echo realized.
“So, how do we find this bounty hunter?” Wrecker asked, fists clenched.
Hunter started giving orders. “Tech, check with Cid, see if her contacts know anything. We’ll keep monitoring comms.”
“You know,” Saachi started loudly, “If the Kaminoans want her, there’s only one place she’ll end up–-back on Kamino.” Where the Empire had a firm grip.
“Bane won’t go there. He attempted to kidnap Palpatine during the war,” Echo reasoned.
Hunter squeezed Saachi’s shoulder. “The Empire wouldn’t let him near any of their military strongholds. Our best bet is to intercept him before he makes it there. Otherwise, we might all end up captured.”
