Armand Is the Reason to Re-Watch Interview With the Vampire

Armand's control over the narrative was on the fringe of AMC's series the whole time—it just took all season for us to realize it.

I think this is a great analysis and I hope it's on track.

Because the current Interview series paints Lestat completely as an abusive bastard.

Which, I'm not saying he isn't, but if you've read the novels, you know it's not completely, and far more complicated than that. Louis' story - and Lestat's - are prime examples of unreliable narrators. Neither one is completely true - or completely a lie.

Maybe the new series is just trying to create an evil, abusive Lestat. But I'm hoping they have plans on revealing a much more complex, arrogant man, who loves deeply, obsessively, and terribly.

But no less than Louis, Armand, Claudia, Marius, Akasha, or any of the others.
