Ooh an Aubrey ask!! I (Mod Acacia) adore Aubrey (she's probably my favorite character in the game besides Hero) so this is so exciting! I'll try my best to answer in her POV in keeping with the ask game (and I chose some game sprites to include just for fun too!)

7. Who do you look up to?

I would have said Mari but um...I guess I'm older than she was now...

I think I'm always going to look up to her though. She was so kind and had this way of taking care of everyone. She could make you feel safe, like everything was going to be okay no matter how bad things were, and she was always looking for everyone and protecting them. No matter what you knew she would always be right by your side.

When I was little, I thought she was just the most amazing person. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I still do. Even if I'll always be older than her now

17. What makes you laugh?

Thanks for thinking I actually have a sense of humor. Some of my friends don't think so 🙄 but that's only because I don't like stupid jokes or potty humor (which is all bozos like Mikhael and Angel are capable of).

But I do laugh at snarky things, especially in movies, on TV, or with my friends. Kim is really sarcastic and makes me laugh a lot, and Sunny occasionally has some funny one-liners (even though I think he's just being honest and not trying to be funny).

Don't tell Hero but sometimes his "dad jokes" are actually kind of hilarious too (even if most of them make me want to roll my eyes).

And...fine. I'll never live it down for admitting it but...

Sometimes Kel, Mikhael, and Angel are so ridiculous that they're funny...but only sometimes. Most of the time, they quickly go from goofball to just obnoxious (especially Mikhael).

Answer as your character would: will they tell the truth? How much will they reveal? Will the question get them emotional, or will they refuse to answer at all?

Please briefly summarize your academic background and research interests

Probably should have answered this one first! 

I graduated from [school] in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Biology, and a minor in chemistry and Genomics. In my undergrad studies, I worked in a cell culture lab where I conducted a study about green tea and whether or not its active ingredient could alter the proliferation of cancer cells. Since graduating, I’ve been working in the field of cancer genetics and have participated in research studies involving office efficiency and patient accessibility to genetic testing. 

One area of research I’m interested in involves cancer genetics and the risks transgender individuals with a mutation face. I first became interested after we saw a transman at our clinic for a familial mutation. Thankfully he tested negative, however, I began to realize how there is a lack of guidelines for transgender individuals with a cancer mutation. From my understanding, they are told to follow rules bases on their sex designated at birth, but what about those on hormones? Cis women with a BRCA mutation are told to not be on hormone replacement therapy, so should we ask the same of transwomen? Does it increase her risk enough of a risk to ask her to do so? These are questions I’ve seen asked and would like to pursue myself possibly as my thesis.

Re: the interview meme; Lumen, do you consider yourself a good person?

Lumen slowly lifts her gaze from the nightshade she’d beencrushing into a paste. Babette, the Dark Brotherhood’s resident vampire, neverengaged in idle talk. Every word, every question, served a purpose. But Lumenwas hard-pressed to discern the reasoning behind this particular line ofquestioning.

“Well I did save the fucking world,” she said at length. “Somewould say that makes me a good person.”

“But you did it for us. You did it for your family. Somewould say that’s a purely selfish reason.”

Lumen sighed through her nose. “I kill people other peopledon’t want around anymore. It’s a public service.”

Babette laughed.

“Fine.” She set the mortar and pestle down. “I’m not a goodperson. I’ve never been a good person—and I don’t fucking care. What does itmatter anyway? People believe what they want.”

“It doesn’t matter. I just wanted to know your thoughts,”Babette said with a smile. “And now I do.”

I remember once being asked about an accomplishment I was proud during a scholarship interview. (Wouldn't suggest talking about something like litterbox training rabbits like I did, but eh it would at least make you memorable haha).

I love this question and you should be proud of your ability to train rabbits! I’ve only ever had fish, so I wouldn’t have any idea what to do with one of those little fluffballs. 

Something that I’m proud of is the fact I’ve created new jobs. I began working as a genetic counselor’s assistant a year and a half ago. The position was new to the office and one of my jobs was to show that it was worth paying for. Part of that was a research study one of the GCs and I conducted where we looked at certain appointment statistics (time spent on patients during their appointments, days GC takes to write a clinic note etc.) before and after I was brought on. We found that I significantly increased productivity in the office and even allowed us to maintain patient numbers even when one of our GCs left. I presented that data at NSGC and we are continuing the project to see how moving to all telehealth appointments and adding another GC affected our numbers. 

Which I am very proud of on its own, but also because this data is being used as evidence for why other GC offices should hire GCAs. Our office has implemented a telehealth structure (even before the pandemic) that allows us to offer testing to individuals who get care at other hospitals in our health care system but cannot easily travel to our location. We’re now creating a program that GC offices in other states can follow to create their own version of our model, which includes a budget for them to hire a GCA. 

This is so important to me because I’ve been incredibly blessed to be where I am while still applying to GC programs. Being a GCA has provided me with a clear understanding of the field and what will be required of me not only in graduate school but also in my career moving forward. I’m incredibly proud of having had a hand in helping other future GC students in their pursuit of the field and know that they will be better GCs for it. Just like I will be.

Interview Q for Luka: name a guilty pleasure!

“Uh, w—why would you ask me that?” Luka tucked his handsinside the sleeves of his oversized robe and visibly shrank. He kept his eyestrained on his feet. I—I think they might be flirting with me. Oh, Sithis. Whatdo I do? Dread slithered down his spine and coiled within his stomach. Butrather than run for the hills (as his every instinct was telling him to do) hespoke. “Um… I guess I enjoy many things that generally aren’t held in highregard. Bad poetry, puns, baby spiders, necromancy— but I don’t like that term. It has abad reputation. I prefer ‘late-term healer,’ myself.” He laughed at that joke.

The city guard did not.

"Having to choose just one is actually kind of hard! I think I'll go with cake though! It's one of the best things I ever got on my birthday." She said happily, remembering how happy she was receiving cake for her birthday. "It's better homemade though! Store bought is okay, but it's better to have that love in it."

"You know, it's actually super cliché. It's been said so much that it's hard for me to speak the words but in all honesty.. What motivates me to keep moving forward is knowing that if I can save at least one person from suffering, then all my struggling, all my pain, will all be worth it. I just want to see them smile.. That's why I continue to smile, despite the fear and the pain. I just want them to continue smiling and having a bright future ahead."
