Actually friendship goals?

Well, after swearing I wasn’t interested in hearing such a potentially sad story (especially since I knew most of it) I got completely absorbed in the story of the climbers in Touching the Void, and it might interest you to know:

There are three questions that Simpson gets all the time. "Are you and Simon still friends?" "When you were in Peru did you call on God to help you?" "Would you have done the same thing?" To which the answers are "Yes"; "Definitely not"; and "Actually, I don't think I could have done what Simon did."

Taken from this interview in 2003. I assume if they’d stayed friends from 1985-2003 that would still be the case.
