“Sisters by heart” by Arian Castro

"No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth." Robert Southey once said. It's been a month since we last saw each other so we have decided to meet up for us to bond and to catch up with each other's life. Also, to be honest, we really met to conduct this interview. 

 It was a gloomy Saturday when we meet each other at a cafe since we both like to drink coffee. I arrived earlier than her as usual as she is always late because she is always having a hard time to pick up her clothes, put her make up on and to iron her hair. If there is one person who is a totally opposite of me, I must say that she really is the one. 

 While waiting for her, I am thinking about the topics that we can talk about so that we wouldn't run out of things to talk about or we wouldn't be awkward. Because I have to face the fact that we may not be as comfortable with each other as we seemed before. But all the doubts that I have in my mind eradicated when she arrived because she literally squealed like a dolphin "AHHHHH!!! ARIAAAANNNN!!" and to be honest at that very time, I just t the floor to just open up and to eat me because all of the people inside the cafe is looking at us. But ofcourse, she is my friend so I squealed to "AHHHH!!!MICHHEEEELLLLE!!" and then we hug each other, that we usually don't do but out of emotions, we did and to also hide our faces because of shyness. And then we both said, "YUUUUCKKK!! PLASTIC!!!" because we are really not that type of friend who is expressive.

 As we sat down, we started sharing our experiences with each other that lasted for about 30 minutes. We stopped or paused our catching up moment because we have noticed that the cashier is intently looking at us because we haven't ordered anything yet since we have arrived there. Michelle then said "AYYY TINIGNAN!!!NAHAHAH, akala yata ni ate di tayo magoorder" "libre moko niyan dali may kailangan ka sakin" then I replied "ikaw kasi e ang dami mong pinagsasabi kaya di tayo makaorder" "ays penge pera may utang ka pa sakin" and then she started laughing because she remembered her debts and with that she gave me her money and told me her order. Because one thing that she really is not used to is to order in the counter because the moment that the cashier would asked her what is her order, she will be then panicking will ordered the coffee or any item that she really doesn't like.

 After ordering, I sat down infront of her chair and said that "uy start na tayo,kailangan mo na umuwi niyan magagalit si catha (pertaining to her mother). And then she laughed and cursed me because of what I have just said. "Gameeeee naaa!!" I said. "oo nga dalian mo na para matapos na" she said while punching me softly. "first question, what is or are, ibig sabihin pwedeng isa or marami grr special skills or talent?" "matinong sagot michelle ha" i've said. She then replied with her conceited tone but in a joking way. "I'm good at playing volleyball, good in critical thinking and I am good in memorizing things." "Next question, what is your favorite quote, saying or verse?" I asked. "Philippians 4:13 Ey!!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!! " she replied then imitating what Stephen Curry does, her idol when he scored in a game. "what other people says or thinks about you? " I asked again. "Hmm, sabi nila Jolly, energetic and genuine person.  Her-emphasizing genuine because she really likes that word. "next question, what do you like or dislike the most?" I asked. "ang dami ha!! Ayoko sa palaka, ayoko sa lalaking paasa atsaka hmmm ayoko sayo!! HAHAHAHA! charot." she said. "Baliw ka dalian mo na!! Anong gusto mo?" I replied. "Siya kaso di niya ako gusto oooooohhhhh!!" then we both laughed because of her remark. "Last question" I said. "Buti naman" she said. "Manahimik ka!! Shhh!! Anong hobbies mo?" I asked. "playing different kind of sports like volleyball, basketball, chess, table tennis etc." she answered. 

 By conducting this interview, I have learned or discovered a lot of things about my friend.  I have realized that there are still a lot of things that I don't know about her even though that we've been friends for a lot of years now. We took this opportunity to conduct this interview but also to bond with each other. We often miss this kind of pieces of information about our friends or to anyone who is around us which is important because by knowing such things or some little things about them means like you get to know them or their personality through that.

MARVILICIOUS

As marvcus and I were doing this activity, I asked him some questions and he answered them precisely. The first question was "What are your special skills or talents?" Then he answered "I am great at public speaking and I also give piece of advice.

           Second question was "What is your favorite quote or saying?" He answered "Batang pasaway lahat sasabay." The 3rd question was "What do most people say about you?" Then he asnwered "Most people say I am a fakboi but I told them they must jot judge the book by its cover."

             The fourth question was "What do you like and dislike most?" He answered "I like fooling atound and I dislike sire patiag." The final question was "What are your hobbies?" Then he answered "My hobbies are sleeping, playing mobile legends and always doing my favorite routine in the comfort room."

YOU CAN COUNT ON ME LIKE 1,2,3

           In a debut party that happened last September 8, I saw Peter Dalina, my friend since grade 5. He's still in HAU but we chose different strands wherein he's a Stem student. We were catching up and I took this opportunity to interview him. Before I moved forward to the following questions I have prepared, I asked him if it's okay to interview him and he replied "Okay lang."

             Writing free verse poems was the talent he stated in which his theme was about love. He even shared his favorite quote or saying "Your greatest supporter is yourself." When I asked him why this was his favorite saying, he told me "Focus muna sa self kasi ako lang makakatulong sa sarili ko." What a lot of people always say about him was his very kind, hardworking, intelligent, a good and efficient leader and president in their class. He also added "Syempre sinasabi rin nila na cute ako!" Then we both laughed. When I asked him what his reaction was whenever other people say those words to him "Nahihiya ako kasi di ako sanay." He replied.

             I even asked what were the things he likes and dislikes and he said that he liked sleeping and researching. I was amazed and shocked when he said he also liked researching so I asked him why and he replied "Gusto ko lang nag-tatype para ma-divert attention ko." Moving on, he doesn't want to sleep late in the evening and he hates having allergies. Whenever he's having allergies he said " Magluluha, sisipunin tapos mahihirapan ako huminga at madalas ko na-eexperience ito kapag nakakaamoy ako ng aso at alikabok."

             Listening to music was his hobby wherein he preferred high energy music like pop songs. We shared the same taste and maybe this was the reason why we clicked. Another thing, his a good guy in which people can count on but even though he's always here for us, he also needs us and he deserve to be loved.

Jeepney

    The sky turned blue and gray. We looked exhausted. “Should we start?” I asked in a cheerful tone. “Yes.” She replied. We’re on a jeepney when I started asking her multiple questions. “What are your special skills or talents?” I said. She paused for a moment. “I guess creating artworks because that’s where I’m good at.” I smiled and proceeded to the next question. I asked her favorite quote or saying. “It’s from the anime Hunter x Hunter. ‘You should enjoy the little detours to the fullest. Because that’s where you’ll find the things more important than what you want.” She answered with a serious face.

    The jeepney stopped. We found ourselves stuck in the middle of the traffic then I asked her, “What do most people say about you?” She smiled and said, “I don’t know if it’s just because of my face or my voice, but most people say that I’m kind.” We laughed. And as the jeepney got out of the traffic, we moved to the next question. “What do I like and dislike the most?” She asked in confusion. “Yeah, anything,” I responded. “Uhm, I like seeing beautiful sceneries with my friends and I strongly dislike hurting the people dear to me.” She answered.

    We’re down to the last question. “Hobbies? Do you have any?” I asked. “Well, I usually spend my time drawing, watching series and movies, painting, and singing.” She said. Lastly, I thanked her for honestly answering my questions. That ended my interview with her. “Para po!” I said. We got out of the jeepney and said our goodbyes.

Sisters By Chance, Friends By Choice

Sarah Jenel D. Baluyut was my sister she was studying also in Holy Angel University and she is a grade 10 student. She was very talented she is good in dancing even the steps are so hard she tries her best to easily memorize the steps.She is also a singer in a bathroom not on stage every time she goes to bathroom she will sing and sing until she takes a bath her is one of the famous great american and civil right activist. She is Maya Angelou the quote is the “All Achievements require time”whenever she fail on something she will always look at the quote at said to herself there is always a right time.

People always say to her that she is a long legged, organized person because every time there is a mess she always puts it on the proper place she does not like scatter things. She is also tall and thin person they always say to her to join a volleyball team. She is also clever because every time she is bored she is always hyper person  and likes roaming around. She is love listening to OPM musics. She also likes sweets and milk tea during the grand opening of the milk tea shops she is always present.

She hates watching horror movies especially at night she will not sleep the whole night. and she doesn’t like eating Korean foods, she prefer Japanese and Filipino food as well. Whenever she is bored she plays outdoor activities. and she likes taking pictures like nature and selfie also.“Sisters take care of each other, watch out for each other, comfort for each other and are there for each other through thick and thin.”

A Peek at Someone’s Life

          The night was coming to an end when the interview started. "Are you ready?" I said in a calm and welcoming tone to make him comfortable. "Not really, but here goes nothing." He replied, laughing lightly. With this, I realized that it would take quite some time for him to really open up. I braced myself with patience and a friendly exterior.

          Before asking the essential questions, I started with a bit of small talk. Surprisingly, he responded to this very coolly. He appeared to be very easygoing and well-versed in casual talks. "So, tell me now more about yourself. Any special skills?" I suddenly asked. Taking his time, he carefully replied. "Well, I'm not sure if this is special, but I cook a lot of good exotic food. It sure is different from a lot of my skills though." I asked him more about this skill and he responded well. He even offered to cook a dish for me at another time. I was able to see his passion and excitement for food. "It's nice talking about this. I never get to talk about it with my friends since I'm better known for other things." As he got more honest and comfortable, I asked him about his favorite quote. "Oh, I actually have one. I don't really know who said it but it goes like this, 'No one knows my struggle, they only see trouble.' Cool right?" He explained how he relates to this for he was always labelled as a miscreant. "People often say they're intimidated by me because I have a lot of friends. I'm actually very introverted." Hearing him say this, I realized how different he is from my first impression of him. "Now, tell me about what you like and what you don't." I said. "I like being surrounded by nature. I usually just bike to get to places like mountains or beaches. I also dislike selfish people. They're tiring to be with." He expounded his answer by himself without me having to ask. "Well as for my hobbies, I play basketball a lot with my friends. I also do household chores. I find it relaxing. I also go to different places using my bike." These hobbies described him as sometimes a calm person, but sometimes an active person.

          The interview ended lightheartedly. We were both smiling as I got to understand him a little bit better and as he got to express himself after a long while. It is evident that he feels relieved after the interview. This was a good chance for him to feel understood and open.
