That was a rather odd reaction for not even having addressed the stranger. All she´d done was skim over the jungle of ad posters screaming in her face about special offers and discounts that today – and only today! – could be purchased. Her wandering gaze might have briefly touched him but to assume she was fully looking at him, let alone make himself out to be someone she actively searched for, was a bit of a stretch. Nothing Liv took offence in though; no one knew better than her how a bad day could mess with one´s head - making one jumpy, or even a bit paranoid.
A slow head shake and a quirked-up brow later she faced the stranger she´d been half turned away from while scouring the shelves for the items on her list, putting the basket down. “Actually, I was only lookin´ for a salesperson to help me find the right one from this absurd amount of screwdrivers. But… I didn´t see anyone for the past three aisles.” A laugh came. “So unless you wanna share your expertise on hardware with me... I´mma be on my way, lookin´.”

Steve didn’t normally let himself feel tired, but today had just seemed to drag on. Between meetings and mission briefings, decisions big and small, and all the effort of rebuilding, Steve had barely had a moment to himself. It was no wonder that by the time he got home, he was ready to crash.
The only bright side in all of this was that Bucky was there. Shucking off his jacket and shoes, leaving his work materials at the door, he shuffled into the living room and immediately collapsed into Bucky’s lap, face buried into his stomach, completely ignoring whatever Bucky had been working on.

“Hey tall, dark and handsome.” He had noticed the man standing to one side whilst everyone started to pair up to dance, and Loki had always had a firm belief that no one should be left out of a dance. Although he was a Prince, after the standard dancing with his mother and the daughters of council members, Loki usually got left on the sidelines. Occasionally if a father was hoping to gain favour with the royal family, they’d send their daughter his way, but more often than not people avoided him. Everyone had wanted to dance with Thor, not his slimy, mischievous younger brother, not if they didn’t have to dance with him.
Well, it was their loss. Loki was a great dancer, and he would’t let himself, or anyone else be on the sidelines unless they wanted to be. “Care for a dance? I’ll even let you lead if you wish.”
Steve glances around the diner idly as he takes a bite of his sandwich, chewing thoughtfully on honest-to-god the best tasting combination of meats and bread he’s ever had, before he swallows it down and glances at his friend. They used to come here YEARS ago-- he’d been surprised to see it still going, and still run by the same family.
“I’m glad this place is still going, y’know. Small diners don’t usually last this long.”

@inthebrokenplaces Hi! I had a question. I really really wanna write with you, but I'm not super well-versed in 616 Tony. Would you mind stumbling through some things with me? If you'd rather not that's okay, i just thought I'd ask. :)
i’m gonna throw this out on the dash just because i know me being 616-based probably causes a lot of confusion about what interactions can happen with mcu/other marvel realities and how that can be handled so!
the good news is, first and foremost, i have a verse to handle this kind of thing, because 616 is...it’s a lot. a lot a lot. there’s like 80 years worth of stuff, i sure as shit do not expect anyone except someone that wants to join me in this hell that is ferreting out tidbits of information in all of that to know much of any of it. and ngl, forme it’s kinda fun to toss tony into the mcu, because the set ups/relationships/events are very different and having him off his footing leaves things open for interesting interactions. because i’m gonna be real honest with everyone: someone not from 616 coming to 616 is gonna get the “oh we need to get you home would you like a snack, some coffee?” while they’re pretty much told to wait in a room for a couple of hours until they figure shit out and boop them back home. the tech level’s different, they can do that. they’re very aware of other realities, the multiverse isn’t a new and confusing concept for earth-616. doesn’t leave a lot of room for actual interaction at all.
all that said, i really do loving dropping tony on unsuspecting mcu folks. he’s different - very different - from his mcu counterpart. i mean, the core stuff is the same: he’s iron man, he’s got great taste in facial hair most of the time, he’s an avenger, he’s a genius, and his filthy rich (most of the time). but all the fun stuff is completely different. his relationships are different. his story is very different.
anyway, all of that is just to say: i am always, completely, 100% willing to answer any questions you got and explain anything you need explaining. i know it can be like. a big mess, because things are just completely different, but overall it’s less hard to digest than you’d think. so i’m always down for that.

Not So Secret

If it hadn't been James, she might have gotten away with it, but she was convinced that James knew her better than she knew herself. It was simultaneously endearing and a little scary. Had he been giving anyone else that look, she might have even thought it was cute.
"Okay, so maybe it wasn't an accident." It had, however, not been entirely intentional either. "But I didn't tell him because I think you're ashamed of me." She felt like she needed to make that part especially clear.
This had been their secret, a good one. No one had known, but they were in their own perfect bubble of happiness. Sneaking around for fun for once instead of out of fear. And then Steve had opened his mouth earlier and said something that she was decidedly not okay with.
"Steve said he was going to try to find you a date." The fact that she had gotten a little bit possessive at the idea of that, was unsaid.

Loki pressed his hand to Barnes stomach gently, where the fabric of his shirt was torn open and blood was gushing. An unknown force had attacked Wakanda, and Barnes being the hero he thought he was had rushed into the battle without looking back. Idiotic Midgardians.
As Bucky opened his mouth to speak Loki hushed him, gathering what strength he had left and closing his eyes, letting bright green light pool around his finger tips as he attempted to close the wound, pressing down harder onto Bucky’s stomach- knowing it must be painful. Loki had been training more, trying to extend his knowledge of magic - dipping into healing magic briefly. And although he knew he wasn’t the best at it yet, he hoped it good enough to stop this flow of blood.
“Don’t move, I’ve got you,” Loki said softly, spreading his hand out across the large cut, a shaky breath leaving his lips as the skin started to knit itself back together, painfully slow, covering Loki’s hands in the sticky red as he did so. Loki watched it with a look of focus in his eyes, trying to keep his seiðr smooth- trying not to put too much strength in or too little. The God, unable to stop his mind wandering, wondered why he was overcome with such a strong urge to protect this man. Could it possibly have been that during their stay at Wakanda the unlikely duo had developed what could be a friendship? That Bucky had gained, over the many years of them staying together - Loki’s trust and loyalty?
Or perhaps, Loki was just feeling nice today.
