“I’m a US Army captain, and you better watch your fucking mouth. Thor said you’ve changed, but keep pushing my buttons and you’ll find yourself in a world of hurt.” He frowned. “What the hell are you doing here anyway?”

"So you're like.. a toy soldier?" Loki asked back, looking up to meet Steve's eyes, a smirk pulling across his face. "I'm visiting an old friend, is all. Aren't you pleased to see me?"

Loki shrugged slightly, “There’s a lot in it. Like the looks on the faces of good, handsome men like you when you realize you’ve been fooled again.” Loki murmured, voice deep and sultry, reaching out to gently run his fingers along Steves collar, straightening it for him.

“Say, Captain, have you ever done anything bad?”

Loki nodded again, “I can come help.” He said back, glancing up to meet Thor’s gaze, noticing how tired he looked behind his eyes, feeling how tired he was as Loki’s magic wrapped around Thor’s muscles, doing the best he could to heal.

“Only for you, though.” He added shortly after.

“Maybe.” Loki said back, feeling the gap between himself and the Captain  was growing awfully small, to the point where he could almost hear the soft breaths he was taking. Loki still kept his gaze, cocking his head to the side slightly.

“Wheres the fun in being good all the time anyway?” He asked slowly,

“A good match, huh? Pretty sure drama and chaos are on other ends of the spectrum entirely.”

“Ah but the two go hand in hand, you can’t have one without the other- no?” Loki asked back slowly, the drink resting at his lips.

“better than the Harry Potter?” Loki asked, laying down on the cool grass, glasses still on his face as he looked up into the night sky, gaze drifting across to Lara Jean, gazing at her and thinking what a strange human she was.

Never had Loki met another human like this before.

Loki went straight to his room to freshen up too, splashing his face with water and staring at himself in the mirror with a look of, you will not fall fancy the handsome stranger to talk to you in weeks, sort of look.

He heard the knock at the door and quickly moved to go open it up, surprised at how well James had cleaned up after only a shower and shave - it was quite ridiculous. Loki forced his expression not to waver too much as he stepped aside, gesturing towards the still-warm dinner, which was a vegetable soup, on the table.

“Mother and Father already ate, help yourself to whats left. Do you want some bread and butter with it?” His gaze followed Barnes as he walked past, turning to shut the door before the cold wind would get inside.

Loki could almost understand where he was coming from. Yet, it still puzzled him - Thors fascination with the humans. Loki had always thought Thor wanted to rule over them too but now he sees Thor.. simply wants to protect them.

“Why do you love them so much, Brother?” He asked, “The Humans - I mean.”

“Yet you know?” Loki asked back, the way she was speaking about it intriguing Loki just a bit.

He followed her gaze around the spaceship, taking a seat in one of the plush white chairs - like everything that was owned by the Avengers. (It was always white, all their interior design.) “So, why do you think I’ve been placed in your watchful eye rather than getting locked in a cage?”

“Thor is nothing like me.” Loki responded back, “You really think I have such brutish force?” He asked, glancing to her, letting the green gossamer-looking magic raise from his finger tips again, not making a move to attack her but ready if she wanted to match him.

“Show me how you could surprise me, then, Wanda.” And the way he said her name, - almost breathlessly, like it was the most delicate, beautiful name he had ever spoken. Like one that had belonged to a queen.

Loki followed him, almost, almost missing the warmth of the hug and the closeness of it. The question made him pause in his steps slightly, before he was tugged along, stumbling due to Thors sheer strength. He wet his bottom lip slightly, “The truth is that I was afraid to return." Loki admitted, looking up to meet Thor's gaze before he pulled away again, "I didn't want to be here, on earth but.. the stars became too lonely."

Loki was led through the door, eyes roaming around the funny looking house. It was like nothing he had lived in before, nothing his brother had lived in either and Loki wondered how he made do. He turned around to face Thor again, eyebrows creasing slightly, Thor didn't look happy. He didn't feel happy- Maybe it was Loki's own fault for thinking he would have had a warmer reunion but it's almost if Thor didn't trust he was here to stay. Or here at all. Thats how it felt to Loki anyway.

"Brother, are you okay?" He asked softly, closing the distance between them with a few quick strides and placing his hand over the can of drink before Thor could raise it to his mouth.
