Seahawks Controlled Johnny Manzel and Browns, Beat Browns 30-13 to Clinch Playoff Spot.
The Seattle Seahawks were able to control Johnny Manzel to win and clinch a playoff spot. Firstly, as CBS Sports said in the Week 15 NFL Grades in which the Seahawks got an "A": "It's almost not fair to have Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin on the same team at this point." Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes to Doug Baldwin and a third to Tyler Lockett in Seattle's 30-13 rout of the Cleveland Browns. The Seahawks have now clinched the playoffs for the 4th straight year in a row because of a Tampa Bay loss, a NY Giants loss and, a Seattle victory. and will make it to the playoffs for the 5 time in 6 years. Russell Wilson is the only quarterback in NFL history to go 5 games in a row with no interceptions and 3+ touchdowns. And, Doug Baldwin set, tied, and broke so many Seahawks and NFL records that I will have to post a link to a Seahawks.com article about it afterwards. The offense has been great in this 5-game win streak. The day after the Seahawks home loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Q13 FOX Seattle posted an article when times looked bleak on our season about how the Seattle Seahawks could still make the playoffs, but, they would have to go undefeated all the way and for them to rise and other teams to fall. Well, I think that happened, we made a 5-game win streak playoffs run, in which, the offense took off and the defense didn't allow a touchdown for 2 weeks in Minnesota and Baltimore. After getting off to a rocky start with an 15-play, 80-yard Cleveland touchdown drive, the defense looked like it's old self again. Holding the Cleveland Browns to only 230 total yards appose to the Seattle Seahawks 423 total yards. The Seahawks defense did it with Strong Safety Kam Chancellor out and Kelcie McCray in. McCray had 8 tackles which led the team. Kam Chancellor is recovering and "improving"-NBC Sports pro football talk. But NBC also mentioned that Russell Okung has a sprained calf. Which could be a problem for this improving offensive line against the Rams good defensive line. But, it was a pretty injury-free game for both teams unlike last week's game. Our running back situation improved with Bryce Brown and Christine Michael having good games. Also, Fullback Derrick Colman got some carries and had an OK game. Like the last two weeks, Punter John Ryan didn't see much action, which means that the Seattle Seahawks had many scoring drives appose to the Browns, with only two scoring drives. I have to give Browns Quarterback Johnny Manzel with an opening touchdown drive but, after that , he didn't do much. After missing some extra points earlier in the win streak, Kicker Steven Hauschka made a 49 yard Field Goal a 27 yard Field Goal, and a 30 yard Field Goal and three extra points to be perfect today. Marcus Burly got an interception off of Johnny Manzel with around two minutes to seal the game , and Seattle's playoffs spot. So, so long and Go Hawks!!
