Thank you very much for a fantastic five months with hopefully many, many more to come!
Best wishes, 😘 Anna
In the snow
Pairing: Jimin x Reader
AU: Werewolf
*light angst, romance, comedy, fluff*
Inspired by Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver series (and the aesthetic of Dean’s What 2 Do)
She was just laying there, without saying anything, without the intention of moving. She looked like a little angel, but her wings were nowhere to be seen in the thick snow, as the snowfall never stopped. She couldn’t get up - not when she faced four scary huge wolves. Even if she could get up, she would have problems with walking as she injured her legs - she tripped while she was running in the forest. And of course, the little girl screamed in her high, girly voice which drew the attention of the so-called beasts of the wild.
She noticed a younger one among them, a white one. At least she thought it was younger because it wasn’t as huge as the others. When she looked at the smaller wolf, she felt something unexplainable - her fear vanished at once, instead of being scared, she was curious.
The wolves didn’t growl at her. She was surprised, she heard stories about the wolves nearby that killed people if they were lost in the woods. And now here she was, besides her bleeding and a bit aching leg, she was okay. At least not the meal of the wolves.
The 9-year old little girl flinched when she saw them moving towards her.
“Maybe I am gonna be a snack. In that case, I loved you Dad, Jungkookie, even if you are such a dork with me and you keep stealing my crayons.” She thought of her farewell to her family. However, only one went closer to her - the owner of the white fur.
Every sane person would back away if they were approached by a wild animal. But she couldn’t move an inch - not only because of her injury. It sat next to her, inspecting the little girl’s features. She thought the wolf acted somehow humanly. Then it came closer and closer until the animal’s warm breath hit her skin. Her wound was reachable thanks to the jeans which were ripped. It was like the wolf was waiting. Waiting for a reaction? Waiting for a voice? She didn’t know.
“Will it bite me?” She asked in her head but she couldn’t panic. Not when she was with the beautiful wolfie. The animal’s face got lower and to her astonishment, it started to lick her wounds. She let out a squeak, it didn’t bother the wolf as it continued to work on her skin.
She couldn’t miss the moment when the wolf looked in her eyes - as if it understood her. She didn’t know what it came to her but suddenly her hand moved to pat it that didn’t expect a touch from the human-being. She smiled softly at the animal in front of her which stopped for a bit but then moved its tongue again.
“I thought you were gonna eat me for dinner, you know.”
She wanted to slap herself - why was she talking to an animal? But she often felt alone as she was living near the wood, far away from other kids, far away from fun. She shrugged but once again the wolf’s eyes laid on her, she relaxed.
“But as it seems, you’re my hero, so thanks for that.” She sounded genuine and she could have sworn she heard a strange noise coming from the pup.
The animal finished and pulled her up, grabbing her coat by its teeth. When she whimpered the animal nudged her by its nose to hop on its back. She was sure she was dreaming. But she accepted the offer and she sat on the wolf. The white wolf went past the others and it headed fast the direction of her house.
“You know where I live? How?” She asked as she was clinging to it. She was comfortable hugging the warm body of the beast, a thought came to her mind - she didn’t want to let go the source of warmness. She didn’t feel that safe since her mother’s death.
When they arrived the little white house, the wolf helped her getting off of it. Her legs didn’t hurt as much as they used to, that was a relief.
“Thank you... my friend.” She smiled and once more she patted its head before it disappeared.
The door swung open, revealing her very angry dad.
“Where the hell have you been, Y/N? I was worried sick.” He started the scolding but then he saw her leg and his thoughts were interrupted by the sight. “You were in the forest?”
“Yes. I was. I’m so-so-sorry.” She cried instantly and her dad enveloped her in a tight hug, a bone-crushing connection of two sad souls. The man was alive only because of his two children, they were the only lights in his dark life.
“Don’t do this to me again.”
She didn’t know but the wolf was still there, watching the emotional moment between father and daughter. He thought for a moment “father-in-law and bride” but it was early to think about. Not when she was a little girl and him a 14-year old teenager.
“You are whipped, man.” He heard the voice of an elder werewolf.
“Thanks, I know.” Jimin rolled his eyes, mentally plotting a murder against his friend if he didn’t stop teasing him.
“It was such a cute scenario. For real.” Yoongi said, this time not as mockingly as before. “She was mesmerized by you and...”
“Oh, just shut up, hyung.” Jimin turned away hiding the pinkness in his cheeks.
Yoongi just laughed, hitting his friend’s back playfully.
“We gotta go or would you like to transform back to be a good guard dog?
“Why are you doing this to me?” Jimin groaned and they left Y/N’s garden. This place was familiar to him now, as every night he was watched her.
Construction Of Planned Preston Dry Slope Edges Closer
Construction Of Planned Preston Dry Slope Edges Closer https://ift.tt/eAm0GWj Construction of lakeside leisure development Phoenix Park in Preston, including a dry ski slope, that was first granted planning permission almost three years ago, appears to be edging closer to getting started after the group planning to build it is reported to have secured the required funding to complete it. The rare new dry ski slope is set to become one of the headline features of a major redevelopment planned for Phoenix Park on the banks of the River Ribble. This is our 2023 report on the original centre announcement. The Lancashire scheme, approved by Preston City Council in August 2023, outlines a significant transformation of the existing Trax Off Road Motorsport site. While the wider plans include a water‑sports lake designed for water‑skiing, windsurfing, canoeing and stand‑up paddleboarding, and a mountain‑bike track, as well as the ski slope. Documents submitted with the application state that Trax Motorsport founder Eddie Sloane had been working to secure investment for the project and has now completed that process, clearing the way for construction once pre‑build conditions are met. Thirteen lakeside lodges are also planned, providing transitional accommodation for post‑16 students in the care system. The aim is to give young people greater independence while maintaining structured support. Phoenix Park is currently dominated by motocross and go‑karting circuits, which operate both as public attractions and as part of a training and education programme for children in care. Before construction can begin, contaminated‑land investigations and other planning conditions must be satisfied. Nights Drawing In Means Countdown to 26-27 Ski Season Underway!
“Nights Drawing In” Means Countdown to 26-27 Ski Season Underway! https://ift.tt/SfC6HU8 It may not feel like it yet, but with the summer solstice now behind us, it means that it means that that annoying part of the year for skiers when winter is getting further away is over and mother nature has now officially warned us that the rundown to next winter and the 26-27 ski season is underway! The summer solstice also marks the end of the 2026 season at Riksgransen (pictured), which has been offering its trademark skiing under the midnight sun for the past six weeks during its 24 hour daylight up in the Arctic Circle. Riksgransen in June Of course, it’s hard to know when one season ends and another begins, because some resorts like Les 2 Alpes in France, Hintertux in Austria and Timberline in Oregon have been operating since last autumn 2025 and are still open for skiing and boarding today. Just one area is left where you can, weather permitting, ski year round – Switzerland’s Zermatt. Plus there are now more than 100 indoor snow centres where you can ski any and every day, now spread across more than 30 countries on six continents – way more choice than the diminishing number of summer glacier ski areas. Celebrating Juneteenth on the slopes at Timberline Oregon You can also chase the ski season around the world – it’s just getting started in the southern hemisphere for 2026 in Lesotho, Southern Africa, the Andes of South America and down in Australia and New Zealand. But one resort that clearly ended its 25-26 season last April and opens for summer skiing, which then morphs into autumn skiing and then its full winter season opens for its 26-27 season in July is Switzerland’s Saas-Fee. Perhaps it has an argument that it’s first to open for the northern hemisphere’s next season after the summer solstice? It’s summer skiing takes place on the Allalin glacier from July 18, 2026. The summer operations run daily through the warmer months, initially from 7am to noon, but with lift times shifting to start and end later in the day as the year progresses and temperatures start to fall in the autumn. Canadas Sunshine Near Banff Reopening for Summer Skiing From This Weekend
Canada’s Sunshine Near Banff Reopening for Summer Skiing From This Weekend https://ift.tt/lL9buWN Sunshine ski area near Banff in Alberta, Canada, is set to reopen for 16 days of summer skiing and riding from this weekend. The decision follows an extraordinary winter in which Sunshine accumulated more than 1,025 centimetres of snowfall with more than 50cm more falling in the month since their 25-26 season ended. That’s over 33 feet of all‑natural snow, enough to bury a three‑storey building and the second most the resort had received in its long history. With a healthy snow depth still holding at high elevation, the resort will offer 16 days of summer skiing from June 20 through July 5, including a uniquely Canadian way to celebrate the country’s national day on July 1st. “Back in June of 2022 when we opened for summer skiing, we saw such a positive response from our community. It was then that we decided, if we’re ever presented with the opportunity to open for summer skiing in the future – we need to do what we can to make it happen,” said Kendra Scurfield, VP Communications at Banff Sunshine Village. “As a team, we’re ecstatic about our upcoming summer ski season. Honestly, what’s more Canadian than skiing in your cut off jean shorts on Canada Day?” The Strawberry Express chairlift will operate daily, and crews are preparing a Summer Strawberry Terrain Park. The standish chairlift will also operate for as long as the snow there remains good. Sunshine Mountain Lodge will reopen on June 19, offering the rare novelty of ski‑in, ski‑out lodging in midsummer. This summer extension caps a standout year for Sunshine, which opened on November 2, its earliest start in 40 years, and delivered record snowfall, new après experiences at The Goat Club, and major events including the North American debut of Red Bull Jump & Freeze.
