A bit more “cultured”
Although much hasn’t happened this week, I feel a lot more comfortable taking on the Culturally Diverse Literature class. I’m really fascinated by the book, and although the affair was already spoiled for me in class, I was shocked all over again once I actually read it. I love listening to it on the audiobook, the voices of other readers really help me connect to the book. Listening to someone else read makes me feel like I’m watching a movie, just without the picture on a screen. The picture is in my head. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have Women's and Gender Studies. At first, just like our literature class, I wasn’t really sure about the class but a lot of what we talk about can also relate to Culturally Diverse Lit. We talk a lot about women and men and how their roles differed and still differ to this day. I related a lot of that to how women were viewed in the book. I’m really excited for these two classes, I may have them both tied as favorites.

Photography by the talented Mr @brigby Make sure you follow him to see more of his work. •••••••••• Happy birthday Mr. Bichir! @demianbichiroficial •••••••••• "This is wheat. believe me, I know wheat." •••••••••• Born to Maricruz Nájera, an actress, and Alejandro Bichir, a theatre director, Bichir began acting, at age 3 at the Palace of Fine Arts in his native Mexico City. He became a member of the National Theater Company of Mexico at age 13 and acted in several plays directed by renowned international masters such as José Tamayo, Clifford Williams and José Quintero. •••••••••• At age 22, he moved to New York. He decided he wanted a break from acting, so that he could experience life and learn English. He got a job as a busboy at Rosa Mexicano, where he would make guacamole at customer's tables. He then moved to Los Angeles for four years, attempting to land acting roles. But, unsuccessful, he was tempted back to Mexico with the offer of role in Hasta Morir, for which he won an Ariel (the Mexican equivalent of an Oscar). •••••••••• His American debut occurred in the television movie In the Time of the Butterflies (2001), and since then he has appeared in several, more famous films such as the Hateful Eight (2015) as Mexican Bob, Lowriders (2016) as Miguel Alvarez, and Alien Covenant (2017) as Sgt. Lope. •••••••••• Special thanks to @mandrews1515 For this milestone entry for Yutani. #demianbichir #sgt #lope #aliencovenant #inthetimeofthebutterflies #hatefuleight #mexicanbob #lowriders #miguelalverez #alien #happybirthday
