Students of the local school, Agrupamento de Escolas de Arraiolos, were asked to bring to class and share personal objects found at home. After shooting them, the resulting images were edited in white and blue and linked to other images shot around the village.
At the artist residency Córtex Frontal in Arraiolos, Alentejo, Portugal.
The village seemed all white and blue.
By asking inhabitants of Arraiolos to show me their village, house and objects, I wanted to emulate the sharing act. While collecting images from the elements of their reality they shared, I brought this act to life.
All images were modified to resemble portuguese azulejos, white tiles painted with blue ink that illustrate religious stories. They illustrated my stay there in autumn 2016.
