Recent room update (Sorry about the photo dump)
Desk setup - gold, greens and white.
Mismatched storage drawers for visual intrigue.
Cords unmanaged for an industrial feel.
My sanctuary is slowly coming into being, still need a few more things to arrive and I'll finally have the setup the way I've envisioned it in my head for so long.
Weekend night time writing whilst listening to Japanese 80's City pop.
When I am not working from home I don't get to enjoy my room much during the day which is why I am trying my best to make it come alive during the nights.

#2: Limit Yourself
Creativity is brought out by scarcity in my opinion. As an artist the best pieces are the ones where I limit myself with my tools, be it by having a strict colour palette, or only using certain shapes to create lines and movement. The less you have to work with the more creative you become, try it!
I say limit yourself by colour palette and maybe completely DIY one aspect of your room, using what you already have. Don't worry, you can always switch it out for something store bought later. But you'll be truly surprised with what your brain can come up with when being stretched to its limits.
I DIY'd those grids above the desk with old dollar store canvas/picture frames. All I used was a staple gun, some spray paint and dollar store twine. Inspired by grids organizers/displays, now I have something completely unique in appearance. Don't forget the touch of greenery for some colour intrigue.
Haven't yet mounted the mirror, but I think it looks okay where it is for now.
I still need to add other details for it, but that's after I receive the items once I buy them online. Hopefully I remember to update the blog when I do.
