When I was younger, my theory of child development was: Babies = Houseplants that need sunshine, care, and feeding, just lie there, and cry. Toddlers = House pets that respond to their name, can do simple tricks, also be careful not to make them cry. Kids = Bushes that move, leave their leaves, I mean toys, everywhere, and oh, still be careful not to make them cry. Teens = Sometimes malevolent tricksters that can make you cry (being a teen at the time, I knew the game). I was waiting to cross a busy street whiling thinking how much I hate traffic. I watched this scene play out from across the scary intersection. The boy noticed that color-wise he matched the sign, and couldn't resist the pose. I could see his mind working: he was considering directing traffic, possibly into the river...wait, oh no--that was my thinking. Guess I still have a ways to go. 🤔😉😊. . . . . #streetwear #streetphotography #streetsign #construction #flagman #diverting #traffic #kidsarefunny #hatetraffic #intotheriver #changeanndgrow #pretend #childdevelopment #directingtraffic
