the INTP anger post was spot on, to be honest
Thanks! I was just thinking about how difficult it is to actually anger most INTPs, as we’re generally one of the more passive types as well as open-minded and nonjudgmental. In my experiences with anger, there are very definite lines that separate my reactions.I’m usually a very docile creature. Childlike and whatnot. But if I get pushed past that breaking point, it ranges from horrible to absolutely catastrophic. Should I give an example? I’ll give an example. :)The worst occurrence of “Unadulterated Rage” I can recall was in high school. My friend’s boyfriend threw his gum out of the car window while we were sitting in the parking lot. We BOTH nagged him to go pick it up, and he refused for several minutes before finally complying. Really, he should have known better, with me and his girlfriend being environmental enthusiasts. Anyway, he storms out of the car and angrily snatches his gum off of the ground. When he gets back in the car, he reaches into the back seat and shoves the gum directly in my mouth. He then proceeded to cuss ME out (not his girlfriend because that would get him in trouble). I swear in that moment I actually saw red. I felt so disrespected and belittled, I opened my mouth and shouted at the top of my lungs (really not exaggerating, I was yelling as loud as I could). Now I’m not the coherent type of raging INTP, I’m the kind who’s brain shuts down and can’t form any comebacks, so what I shouted was simply “WHY ARE YOU SUCH A JERK?!” Yeah, pretty lame, but the volume got the message across and he promptly shut up. I don’t think I spoke to him for a week after that. He did eventually apologize, but that was only years later. The closest thing I got to an apology afterwards was “oh, I didn’t mean to put it in your mouth.”BUT hey. I’m not mad about it anymore!
Sorry this got a little out of control…
Anyone else want to share some anger experiences? I would love to hear them!
