Honestly it makes total sense for Ken to be interested in Buddhism. To want a cosmic force with the ability to punish those who have done wrong, that maybe he can be punished for what he’s done, and to punish those he’s too scared too broken to fight against himself. And to hope maybe one day, not now, he can break this cycle of existence and in worst case scenario maybe he gets to try again in a new life. It explains specially why he’s interested in Buddhism and not Hinduism, because he already falls into the narrative of Yayati (Yayati complex lol) from the Mahabharata which is a nightmare for him Personally. (I have relatives who r Hindu, this is abt Ken not the faith) Buddhism also came into existance partially as a way to resist the dharmic element that requires you to “fulfill your role” of ur designated cast that came from Hinduism and I think that’s exactly what Ken wants to do.
