He’d thought that he’d be dealing with the souls Hell really wanted to make suffer, not just any old soul that came on down. He sighed, rubbing a bloodied hand over his face. Whatever. He wasn’t going to question it. Well, more like he knew that it wasn’t a smart idea to question.]

[Well, this was new. Dean had grown used to the comings and goings of demons, and the arrival of new humans, but he’d never really seen too many powerful beings come into Hell. As far as Dean could remember, angels had only been in Hell once. Alistair and Lilith rarely, if ever, left, which meant Dean really only saw regular-ish demons and damned souls.]
“Can I help you?”
[His tone is sharp and bitter. He’s more than a little irate. He’d been interrupted from doing his particular job, and Dean hadn’t had much time to devote to that today. He’d been running back and forth way too much.]

[Well, well, well. If it wasn’t the angel who was supposed to rescue him. Save his soul. All that jazz. Dean smirked at the other. This was going to be fun, and Dean suspected it would be the most fun he had had in a long time.]
“Castiel. Long time, no see.”
[He purrs, eyes flashing black.]
“Why haven’t you come to visit little old me sooner? Could have used some company.”

[Huh. He sure was getting a lot of angelic visitors today. Not that the thought particularly bothered him. Actually, it made him quite happy, considering that it gave him a better chance of finally catching and skinning one of those feathery bastards.]
“Is it my birthday today? Sure seems like it.”
[He grins. It’s nothing short of sinister.]
“Either that, or somebody upstairs loves me.”

“Lucifer.”
[The angel’s name is breathed almost reverently from Dean. Most people wouldn’t expect this type of behavior from Dean, even in his current state, but he can’t help himself. How can he stop himself? The angel before him is the only reason that demons like him even exist.]
“Is there anything I do for you?”
[For once, the question isn’t asked sarcastically. It’s a genuine question. Dean wants to know if there is anything he could do for the angel before him. That, and, though he will never admit it, he it more than a little distrusting of the other. He’s learned very quickly everything comes with a price.]

“Well, well, well. What do we have here.”
[Dean sounds eerily like his mentor as he drawls the words in a sing-song voice. He smirks at the angel, the promise of imminent violence glittering in his green eyes. He’d heard about this one He doesn’t even have to know the angel’s name to know that this was the one, the one who was supposed to save him.]
“Shit, man. What took you so long? I tried to wait for you...”
[Dean lets his eyes flick to their natural, inky black state. Ah. Nothing like a good old guilt trip to get things started.]
