Looking for answers? The internet is a treasure trove of information, with search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing at our fingertips. But the great mystic poet Kabir reminds us that true wisdom comes not from external sources, but from within ourselves. As he wrote in one of his famous dohas:
"Google Khoje, Yahoo Khoje, Aur Khoje Bing.
Kahat Kabira Suno bhai sadho, You gotta search within."
In other words, we may search the whole world over, but until we look inward and engage in self-reflection, we will never find the true answers we seek. So take some time to meditate, to contemplate, to explore your own thoughts and feelings. You might be surprised at what you discover! #Kabira #SearchWithin #SelfDiscovery #Meditation #Mindfulness #IndianWisdom #SpiritualQuotes
Fearless Girl
What ever happened to that fearless little girl? The one who approached the horrors of the world with nothing but curiosity? That little girl who would get on the biggest roller coasters - the ones that made other kids her age cry- and ask to go again and again. That little girl who would wander off on her own in search of danger and was disappointed when she didn’t find herself face to face with a lion but rather a frazzled mother.
Now that same little girl is afraid of her own shadow. She is terrified of everything. She finds herself constantly holding back tears, locking herself away, unable to vocalize exactly what it is she’s more frightened of.
What happened to that fearless little girl?
Well it’s simple - she grew up.
She discovered the world she resided in was cruel and unforgiving to those who were different.
The problem was that as a child she could still believe in herself. She believed she could get herself out of any bad situation. She came up with plans and back up plans to survive against any great fear childhood warned her of.
But as she grew older she was told again and again that she was incapable of the things she imagined.
For every fight she stood up in she was beaten down but that would never stop the fearless little girl. In order to make sure she didn’t get back up they needed to hold her down and tell her everything she believed of herself was a lie- that she was only capable of lying down - that she was incapable of handling this world.
They took the fearless little girl and made her afraid of everything else so the real monsters would go unnoticed. Whispering to her day in and day out to make her too afraid to ever stand up again.
To answer your question, where did that fearless little girl go?
She didn’t go anywhere at all, she’s still lying on the ground- broken.
I’ve always thought that I’m quite a calm/chill person. Functionally this has seemed to be true. I am beginning to realise however that it’s not because I don’t have that same passion or rage I see in others, but that I was taught that the mere experience of anger, whether you deal with it healthily or not, is a failure.
I am finding these days that I actually have a lot of anger. I just never let it exist before
