it’s all likely HILARIOUS to an outsider and, on several levels, he supposes that he can see the humor in the situation. for one, they keep crossing paths. for another : she runs at the mere sight of him. she may have begun to recognize the way that he WALKS, considering that half the time when he enters a room he gets the sight of her : running. rather quickly, all things considered. yet, for all the hilarity that this may appear to cause to passersby, it only stokes the embers of his irritation, to be treated as if he were a BOOGEYMAN or, worse, A MONSTER WALKING IN THEIR MIDST.
( yes, yes, he knows well how he presents himself to the vast majority. his solitude and gruffness lend themselves well to the aura of a WALKING THREAT / furthermore emphasized by his interactions with his so called childhood friends. yet : that hardly changes the fact that he isn’t primed to commit genocide at the drop of a hat. quite the opposite, in fact. )
and it seems : he has unwittingly cornered her once more. well, in a manner of speaking, considering that he entered this room through the only entrance and, in a frankly ridiculous twist of fate : there she is. ❝ stop. why do you keep running away from me? ❞
