How do you find interviews that Rumiko has done about Inuyasha? Google doesn’t give me much info. The most I could find was the character profile thingies and some stuff on twitter. I feel like there’s a lot of fandom hc that just kinda get accepted into C without any real sources?? I’m so confused about where people are getting their information. I was hoping to find some forums or translated message boards but nope :(

The #1 source for translations of Rumiko Takahashi interviews is @rumic-world (rumicworld1 on twitter), you can find all the interviews on their website furinkan.com (here). Dylan & Harley Acres have been die-hard fans of Rumiko Takahashi for like, 20+ years, and they collect everything they can find about her. Their translations tend to be reliable and unbiased from what I heard.

For recent interviews, especially regarding everything related to Yashahime, @ayuuria has translated almost all of them on their blog.

And finally @inu-fanon was a fan translator of the IY manga and they debunked a lot of misinformation & mistranslations in the fandom on their blog. I also found a few verifiable info about Rumiko from them that I didn't find anywhere else.

If someone tells you "Rumiko said that" but they can't link back to these people, or they can't provide a screenshot or link to the source in Japanese, I would not believe what they're saying, lol.

Some classic "Rumiko said" that are false: - "Kagome doesn't age in the feudal era because she's from the future so she can live for a long time with Inuyasha" this was on Kagome's page on a fan wiki called "Heroes Wiki" with no source but it looks like they removed it. - "Inuyasha was meant to end up with Kikyo and Kagome was meant to go back to the future but Rumiko was pressured by fans to make inukag endgame" or "Rumiko only made Inukag endgame because Kagome's VA told her to" (the source for this is a Spanish blogpost which mistranslated this interview (Q4) where Rumiko said that she hesitated about "which world" Kagome was going to choose but in the end she felt like Kagome would be living "with half a soul" without Inuyasha so she went with what was best for Kagome). - "Inuyasha was confirmed to be 200 years old & aging slowly. " The profile book only says Inuyasha is "15 (in human years)" which could be a reference to him being sealed for 50 years. In 2001 Rumiko said she doesn't know how hanyo ages, only that she wrote Inuyasha to be 15 so he's the same age as Kagome. In 2020 she said that Inuyasha, Kagome and Moroha "age at about the same pace as the timeframe of the story. Signs of their aging may show up decades later." which to me means they age like humans. The Inuyasha is 200 years old thing is from the third movie and everything anime-only is non-canon to me.

There's probably others but you get the idea! I know all this because Inuyasha is my special interest and I need to know EVERYTHING there is to know about the series lmaoo ✌ Also because I hate 90% of the popular fanon for the series, especially for inukag.

*waltzes in* My turn to ask for your meta!

I’ve always been confused about the campfire scene in the second movie. Kagome is being sweet and tells Inuyasha that she likes him as a half demon. He kinda ignored her? Or was he deep in thought? She gets annoyed at his silence and puts her hand on his shoulder- thennn Inuyasha gives us a dramatic slow mo turn and kagome is awestruck.

Like why? At first I thought Kagome was admiring his pretty eyes like 👁👄👁 but idk! Every time I watch that scene I feel like something is going over my head.. so thoughts? What is your interpretation? 😗 are there any tidbits about the movie you know of that might explain what the movie was going for? I learn so much from the fandom I can’t help but ask haha.

Oh Michelle that scene has always confused me 😭 Someone asked me the same question a couple years ago (here) and I wrote a whole essay about it and I think I get what Sunrise was going for but it was poorly executed. Here's the explanation from my other post:

I think maybe, she saw in his eyes that what she just said really affected him (in a good way). Because he’s never had anyone telling him that being a half-demon is a good thing. He always wanted to change (like he was telling her previously in the conversation) and now he was hearing someone telling him to do the opposite, to stay how he is because being himself is perfectly fine. [...] At that moment when he turned around he let a little bit of emotions slip and Kagome noticed it immediately, even though he tried to cover it up right after. So I think she was simply shocked at the fact that maybe her words had a bigger impact on him than she imagined, because this was the first time he looked at her in the eyes during their conversation.

Basically Inuyasha's look™ in that scene was supposed to convey the emotions he was trying to hide. I just think it's poorly executed because his eyes don't really look that expressive?

Also his attitude after that was very defensive and angry. I think if they made him blush and look away it would have made more sense.

I'll be honest Movie 2 is my least favorite Inuyasha movie so I don't have a lot more info about it that could explain that scene 😅 If anyone has thoughts about it please do share!

Can we get a puppy update whenever you get the chance? 🥰

oh boy it's been Rough lmao get ready for a rant because this puppy has been the only thing I've been talking/thinking/dreaming about for the last month and a half 😭

The pros: - She is still VERY cute! Everyone compliments her when I take her on walks or to the pet store or vet!

- She never has accidents, she always uses her training pads. I was waiting for her to have all her shots before taking her in our backyard to potty because there's a lot of wild animals in my neighborhood so we'll start training her to go outside soon - She sleeps really well at night in her crate, she holds her pee in for the entire night nowadays but when she wakes up at 5:30am she really needs to go lmao - She can be very cuddly and loves to sleep on my lap 😭 - She is VERY smart when it comes to learning commands! She knows sit, lay down, paw, kiss, come and stay! But obviously she's good at it when she's inside the house and there's no distractions, outside is different 😂

Cons: - She has a bunch of health issues... Nothing super serious but she was sick a couple weeks ago and I took her to the vet as an emergency and she's had weird poops since. She took some meds, we did a bunch of tests and we still haven't really found the issue. We're trying new food again (it's the 4th time we're changing) because we think she might be allergic to something but we don't know what yet. She's super itchy (bites her legs/paws, scratches her face) and her skin changed from pink to dark grey (but people I talked to said that might be normal for pugs as they age??). Everyone has conflicting opinions on dog food so trying to find the right one for her is really difficult (and changing too fast gives her diarrhea rip) - The puppy biting/nipping is SO bad. She doesn't really do it hard on our hands now but she stills bites our feet when she wants to play and it hurts. I read everywhere that she will grow out of it for the most part by the time she's done teething (around 6 months old and she's 3.5 months old rn) but until then it sucks. - The trainer I started seeing said she's reactive and reacts aggressively (barking) towards things she doesn't understand (dogs when she's close to them, new objects and sometimes people). She tries to jump towards cars when we walk on leash and tries to eat everything she sees on the ground so going on walks is exhausting. I tried to socialize her as soon as I got her but she was sick for a while so I didn't want her to interact with other dogs since we didn't know if she had something contagious and now idk if I made a mistake. I'm hoping she will improve with age in that regard too, and we have a 6 weeks training program with the trainer that will also most likely help.

It's been a lot of work, she's not an easy puppy and I was definitely not well prepared but I adopted her so now she's my responsibility and I will do my best to raise her to be a good dog! I barely have any free time since I'm raising her alone (I live with my parents but it's my dog only), I definitely had big regrets and I miss my simple life but I'm already really attached to her and I cried so much over her already lmaoo (and I never cry). Again sorry for the huge rant I had a lot of things to say but thank you for asking Michelle! 🥰 If you ever had dogs (especially pugs) I welcome advice but I also know that everyone has different opinions when it comes to raising dogs and each puppy is different!
