Does anyone else remember that old Inuyasha game you could play on the computer, and it was like…

You could play as a character- any character, even Koga or Kagura or Naraku- and you would have to battle all the other characters using… not quite cards, but canonical moves/attacks that specific character had, and after defeating each character you’d get another piece of the sacred jewel, and the goal was to defeat all the characters so you could complete the jewel?

Because it’s in my brain and I can’t think of the name, but the sound effects (including Kagura’s very calm “Dance of the Dragon” and Sesshomaru’s angry doggy roar) are living rent free in my head.

I played this game so much as a little kid and I can’t remember it.

Me at my brain right now trying to recall every single detail of the game kid me had stored away in hopes I might recall the title:

Inuyasha Secret of the Cursed mask game script differences anyone?

Yeah, so on several occasions when looking up clips of the game, I read, or heard, people say they prefer one character(Kaname or Michiru) over the other. Either because Kaname is whiny, Michiru is boring, or some other such excuse/reason. Honestly, the only difference I ever saw is the tone in which they say a line.

BUT there was one playthrough I started to listen to in which the person said he prefered Michiru’s story. HUH!? As far as I know their story is exactly the same! O_o Soooo, I decided to watch two different playthroughs at the same time and spot the differences. Apparently there are some lines between the two main characters that are different. So I started writing them down. 

NOW my question is, should I go through the whole game and do this? Is it worth doing? ‘Cause from what I see after a certain point the lines are almost exactly the same. With a minor change in how they respond.

Still, I thought I’d at least share the opening animation differences with you all. You may find it interesting. :)

Intro animation:

Michiru/Kaname, "What? you've got to be kidding? Are you sure they are going steady?"

Friend guy, "Come you don't have to go and flip out over it." Friend girl,  "Come on don't make a scene! You don't have to go and flip out over it."

Friend guy, "Boy, you sure are clued out when it comes to noticing stuff like that. One look and it's so obvious." Friend girl,  "I've never seen anybody as clued out as you when it comes to noticing stuff like that. One look at them and it's obvious."

Michiru/Kaname, "Do you really think so?"

Friend both, "Yeah, like another obvious couple."

Michiru,  "What?! Tomokato and Momo-chan too?!" Kaname, "What?! Hiro and Sako are going steady?!"

Friend guy, "Chill out! Would you quit making a scene about it you big dufous!?" Friend girl,  "Would you quit making a scene about it you're totally embarrassing me!?"

Michiru/Kaname, "It's just that, their still only in junior high."

Friend guy, "Get real would yah? Already in junior high is more like it. It's hardly unusual. There are a lot of guy that already have girlfriends. Like Saki, and there's Akira, and Sheon. Oh and Takuya!" Friend girl,  "Get real would yah? Already in junior high is more like it. It's hardly unusual. There are lots of girls that already have boyfriends. Like Yuka, and Taki-san, and Miko. Oh and Tomo-chan!"

Michiru/Kaname, "Even Tomo-chan/Takuya?!"

Friend guy, "What, you didn't know?" Friend girl,  "Oops, you didn't know?"

Michiru/Kaname, "No. It's news to me."

Michiru,  "Man what a shocker this has been. And here I thought I was Takuya's good friend. Kaname, "Man what a shock that is. And here I thought I was Tomo-chan's good friend.

Friend guy, "Huh, I guess he didn't want to make you feel bad." Friend girl,  "She probably didn't want to hurt your feelings."

Michiru/Kaname, "What are you saying?"

Friend both, "You know. You don't have a guy/girl yet." laughs "You sure blush easily Kugurugi." laughs. "This is our stop."

Michiru/Kaname, "Oh man I knew I was gunna be late."

Michiru/Kaname, "Sorry I'm late dad. I didn't mean to keep you waiting."

Dad, "You know this is the doll festival of wishes."

Michiru/Kaname, "Yeah but my home room class went way overtime." Michiru,  "I'll get changed and come right back." Kaname, "I'll get changed and come right away."

Dad, "No, hang on. I can handle things here. Please go to the store house and get me some more amulets."

Michiru/Kaname, "You got it!"

Michiru/Kaname, "Let's see. I think we put the box of amulets somewhere in the back last year." Michiru,  "I wish I had stopped to get a flashlight." Kaname, "I wish I had remembered to grab the flashlight.

Michiru,  "Ow, this place is dangerous." Kaname, "Ow, this place is pretty dangerous. Michiru/Kaname, "The floor is totally rotten. And so's my luck today. I'll get dad to fix it later." Screams into black screen
