Dear authors:

Your utopia isn't until there are properly designed systems for disabled characters in your world. And if you think no one ever looked at a cart or a rocking-chair and thought, "I can work with this," then you seriously need to rethink the ingenuity that people with impairments can be driven to. Glasses, Braille, hand signs (don't you dare edit out curses), walking sticks, colourblind folk working with texture instead of colour... This week I saw a dude with no arms competing in a pistol tournament. That man's feet were incredibly dextrous. I was more impressed with his reloading technique than his excellent marksmanship. We have been inventing, adapting and compensating our whole lives. Make sure you do too.
