“Buffy?” Alex stage whispers, standing a good few feet away from her, leaning over slightly as if somehow that angle would make the sound hit her ears at an acoustical high point. “Buffy? Hey, get up.” 

He takes a moment and then steps toward her, reaching out to touch her shoulder. “Buffy, hey!” he repeats, a little louder this time.

When she doesn’t move he grabs a pillow from beside her and whacks her over the head with it. “Wake up! Or I will break out the water bottle.”
