There should be no surprise that you can find traces of Krautrock everywhere, cause the genre itself consisted of different musicians. I mean, you had early Kraftwerk, Faust and Tangerine Dream among others as the members of that idiom. While it is true they shared the propensity to go beyond the labels of rock, they do not really have that much in common. True, they may have the identical foundation, yet each of these groups diverged into its own path. Tangerine Dream, for instance, basically invented 80's with their early use of synthesizers. Stratosfear is the best album to start with them, cause you really need an entry point for their discography which rivals Bill Nelson's in the quantity its output. To go back to the record, it presented them as an outfit that is also capable of great melodies, which might be the reason why they were so wanted during the 80's for many soundtracks. They suited the era perfectly. Of course they did, they anticipated it in the 70's.
