Shay had stayed hidden from Albert for about a month before he found her. The struggle between them before he’d dragged her to Continuance wasn’t pleasant. Apparently Godfrey had wanted him to kill her too now that Robert was dead, but instead, Albert had decided to keep her as a plaything.
Except after leaving her to Godfrey’s mercy for several months, Shay had actually....come to understand Albert. Even like him a little.
But that hadn’t prevented her from running when the chance came, even getting Claude and Noah involved in her escape and nearly getting them killed. Albert was still insane after all and Shay had no intention of becoming Continuance’s weapon.
“Claude?” Shay peaked around the corner of a building near the Deveaux place, hearing some grumbling and kicking. Everyone knew he hung out on their roof so it was sometimes too easy to find the invisible man.
“I’m sorry about the car accident, but I still need your help.” Albert had, oddly, let her go and told Shay that she needed to run. Far and fast. But clearly, after he’d found her last time, she needed help with that. Why not seek out an expert?
