ИИ-модели Fable 5 и Mythos 5 от Anthropic оказались временно недоступны. Компания закрыла к ним доступ после того, как американские власти потребовали запретить иностранным гражданам внутри и за пределами США использование новейших версий этих систем. В Anthropic утверждают, что реализовать такое ограничение оказалось слишком сложно, поэтому компания была вынуждена временно закрыть доступ для всех пользователей, сообщает издание PCMAG.

Более ранние модели компании, включая Claude Opus 4.8, продолжают работать в обычном режиме.

Американские власти не объяснили точную причину своего решения. В самой Anthropic предполагают, что поводом могла стать неподтвержденная информация о том, что найден способ обхода встроенных ограничений.

Особое внимание привлекла модель Mythos. С момента ее запуска весной она продемонстрировала невероятную способность находить уязвимости в программном обеспечении и компьютерных системах.

Публичная модель Fable 5 построена на той же технологической основе, но содержит дополнительные механизмы защиты в областях, связанных с кибербезопасностью и биологическими исследованиями.

В Anthropic отмечают, что государство должно иметь возможность вмешиваться в случае, если ИИ-модели могут быть использованы злоумышленниками. Однако в компании не согласны с тем, что потенциальная возможность обхода защитных механизмов является достаточным основанием для отключения продукта, которым пользуются десятки миллионов пользователей.
