As I get older, I realize a lot of things - whether I deny them at first or not. It’s hard because you don’t want to think it will happen: growing apart, moving, changing. Just life - normal parts of life that you can’t avoid, as hard as they may be. I can feel myself accepting it and going with it. Of course the idea of it all will always bum me out but at the same time I can be happy that I had those friendships and that I’ve grown because of and from them. It’s a lot easier said than done to be ok with it all, trust me I get that. And sure, it might be easier for some and harder for others. I just try to focus on myself and learning about what works for me. I am 26 and I think there is no time like the present to focus on myself. Clearly I have had problems letting go of people, places, & things in the past and that has me feeling emotionally drained and ready to make smarter decisions instead of the same decisions. I feel as though I am in a place in my life where I don’t need to explain myself or my actions. Life should be lived for you, the way YOU want to live, on YOUR terms.
