I/O Chip Music

I/O is a monthly chip music and visuals show in Brooklyn, New York. Its aim is to provide exposure for new and established chip musicians, visualists, and mixed media artists through showcase events as well as workshops for artists and children aged 9-12.
Embracing elements of DIY, hacker, and punk rock cultures, and mixing in some of the ethos of the Antagonist Art Movement, I/O has been free to play and low cost to attend since it began in 2009. I/O takes pride in carefully choosing venues and collaborative partners and meticulously curating shows. By pairing established chip musicians and visual artists with new talent, it has become a platform for providing exposure and experience to emerging live chip music talent.
In addition to monthly shows, I/O has also collaborated with select partners and events beyond the chip music community, including Rabbithole Studio, Vaudeville Park, Pulsewave NYC, Boston8Bit at PAX East 2011 (in Boston), ShiftyLook.com at NY Comic Con 2012, the Lomography Gallery Store (New York and Tokyo), The Moon comedy variety show, and Chiptography.com.
