Regular exposure to common toxins are impacting iodine levels and leading to numerous health problems, according to an article by Dr. Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD, DM (P) published on GreenMedInfo.com.
Iodine is particularly vulnerable to "competing halogens" including fluoride, which can be present in high levels in most of the nation's drinking water. With a similar structure to iodine, fluoride (along with bromide, chlorine, perchlorates and heavy metals) "inhibits iodine absorption and binding in the body," suggests Sircus, adding that those populations who are more exposed to fluoride, "have a desperate need for more iodine."
