Ironically, I don’t hate him - I reserve that for people worth my energy. I dismiss him because I’ve been watching hockey a long time and he’s only relevant when hockey fans on here join the cheesy and ignorant adoration that I see in fanboys on reddit. Supposedly people here claim to be above guys like that so I figure why not spread the readily available info. 

I’m fine with posting about him because his fans who did zero research into him before seeing his PR stunting keep trying to pull receipts on other Russian players as worse than Ovi because they’ve posted about Putin on social media. When Ovi literally is politically involved and has been his entire life, and has done nothing but benefit from it. So yeah, it’s no bother to me to copy this stuff over and throw it in the dumpster fire of biased man-worship and maybe it might clue hockey fandom into the fact that they can’t live in a shippy aren’t-hockey-men-cute bubble if they ever decide to step out and talk reality. I do it myself and I’d much rather be informed than keep my fandom experience ignorant. 

Oh yeah and the excuses they pull out for him and the Caps re (still very much planning! they’ve said so themselves!) the WH visit and Trump are completely the opposite of the accountability they (rightly) held for Sid and the Pens in the same situation. Every excuse people try to find to say that it’s different is bullshit and nothing more than people being so childish that they genuinely think hockey players are saints until proven otherwise. Well, only if they’re cute or on the team they like lol. 

Folks don’t like me saying it? Blacklist and go away. Not my job to look after y’alls affections for these privileged men.
