Good Morning! Have an opal and a bee with your coffee! -available Sunday @ 7pm EST- I am not a morning person. Never have been. Yet, I wake up every morning at 6:15 to make my kids lunch, and whisk them off to school, because I’m a mom 🤗. And I love being a mom. It gives me purpose, and motivates me like nothing else ever could. I used to dread getting up that early to drag myself to a job. But when I get up to do Mom things, I just do it 🤷🏻♀️. I really feel so blessed and lucky that I have the freedom to be a stay at home Mom for my kids now, and the flexibility of creating art for a job. A job I actually love ❤️. It wasn’t always this way for me, and I always have a nagging fear that it won’t remain this way...and I’ll have to get a “job” again 😐. When I had my first baby back in 2008 I actually stopped making for about 5 years. I didn’t think I could do it anymore (there were a lot of people telling me I couldn’t) I thought I had to get a job to help support my growing family. I also felt very fulfilled as a mom and I didn’t think I needed to create anymore to remain satisfied. That went on for five years! And I was increasingly agitated and aggravated with my job. It was getting really hard to leave my growing family everyday and deal with working so hard for practically nothing in return. So I picked up metalworking again around 2012/2013, and worked really hard to make it into a “job”, and here I am, about 5 years later. With 3 kids, and actually doing what I thought couldn’t be done with one kid. 🤷🏻♀️.
