Better late than never
Sorry for the late post, we had some issues with the hotel wifi so I was unable to post for last week. Hotel you may ask? Yes, I am in Bordeaux, France! Spring break has sprung (travel plans pictured below).
But before getting into that, last week was a pretty average week at uni. It’s funny, the same things that I do at home with my friends like going out to breakfast, studying together, going shopping, watching movies, are a lot of the same things I do with my friends here. Last week I had lab again, this week was a lab on the statics of the centre for twisting. Had both Cleopatra and British Civil Wars lectures for the first time in a while so it was nice to see my professors again post strike. There is talk of more strike days, but all of that is to be determined. Controls is still pretty average difficulty, same old, same old.
And then we were off to France. I was in Toulouse for basically a day before going to Bordeaux, I was just there to meet my friends since they started spring break on Tuesday and I had to wait until Friday because of my classes. Now we are in Bordeaux, and aside from a little rain, the city is absolutely beautiful. My language proficiency is in French, so it’s been fun seeing what I can do every though everyone speaks incredibly fast. The first night we got here we walked around, got dinner and ran into a marathon, which was exciting and pretty unexpected.
Then today we found our way to the Cité du Vin, the wine museum here, detailing everything you would ever want to know (and more) about wine making, tasting, the history of Bordeaux, etc. We all said that it was one of the most interesting museums we’ve ever been to.
