Which new iPhone is right for you?
It’s near the end of 2017 and smartphone users have never had it so good. There has always been a lot of choice on the Android side of the smartphone market but strangely enough, this year even iPhone users who are in the market for a brand new Apple-branded smartphone are spoilt for choice. In addition to all the older and cheaper previous generation smartphones that Apple is still offering for sale, this is the first time the company is offering three flagship iPhones ever, in the same year. So, if you’re looking to upgrade your existing iPhone or jump ship from an Android device and only a top end smartphone will for you, you’ve got the iPhone 8, the iPhone 8 Plus and the all-new iPhone X to choose from.
The iPhone X
The X is the possibly the most well-known new iPhone in 2017. In fact, it has to be one of the phones that have received the most media attention and news coverage. This is because it is not only the tenth-anniversary version of the first smartphone that Apple ever made, it is also the first new design iPhone from Apple in about four or so years. If you want the latest and greatest phone that Apple makes and you want everyone to know that you have the brand new hawtness, this is the phone for you. Keep in mind however, that dropping the iPhone X will cost you about 400 dollars. That’s what a replacement screen costs for the phone so unless you like to live dangerously, iPhone X cases and Back Covers are the way to keep your thousand dollars plus investment safe.
The iPhone 8 Plus
The 8 Plus has been hugely overshadowed by the new X but it is actually a very good phone. It has almost all the internals of the X and it actually has a slightly larger screen. At a price that is many hundreds of dollars less than the X, you should be able to but a few iPhone 8 Plus cases & covers and still spend under 800 dollars for the entire purchase.
The iPhone 8
At the lowest end of the new flagship range from Apple, this year is the iPhone 8. It still gets a single camera and it looks exactly like the 7 and even the 6 before it. So much so that iPhone 8 cases and covers are backward compatible with the older phones. Still, if you’re on a budget and you want a current generation iPhone, the 8 is what you should go for.
