omg I saw your post about your widgets and I was wondering how you made it?? only if it’s okay for you to say
Yeah, of course! I'll try to break down my process into steps, including apps:
I decided on my aesthetic. I obviously love the color pink and my phone is also pink on the outside, so I decided to go with a theme that would have different shades of pale pink. You could also go with a theme based in pictures, not just a specific color.
I searched the web for app icons. Pinterest is definitely the best place to look for this! You can get such a variety and not have to go through the hassle of making them yourself, unless you want to.
I found a minimalist wallpaper. When I found the one I liked, I decided on a base shade of pink and used my photoshop app Superimpose to overlay it over the background.
I put all my apps into categories on the first page of my homescreen. This prevents me from deleting all the original apps and gives me a place I can go back to in order to check for notifications and such.
I created pictures for my widgets. I crafted a variety of things: Din pictures with the base pink overlay, Din quotes using the Phonto app, the logo of The Mandalorian, etc. to fill in as smaller widgets.
I downloaded the app, Widgetsmith. This allows you to make the custom widgets, which also includes ones that have calendars, times, locations, and more.
I created all my app shortcuts. This was easily the most tedious part. You look up the Shortcuts app, hit the plus button in the upper right corner, select the "Open App" option (second on the list of "Next Action Suggestions"), select the app you want, tap the blue button in the upper right corner, select "Add to Home Screen," name the shortcut, then tap the logo on the left to attach the logo you saved earlier. You have to do this for every app whose logo you want to change.
I added my widgets. You can add widgets to your homescreen by getting the apps to shake and hitting the plus button in the upper left corner. Look up "Widgetsmith" and select either your small, medium, or large widget. To choose a specific widget, tap on the widget and tap on the name of it to get your full list of created widgets for that size.
I organized my homescreen. This was the fun part! I chose to do clustered categories of four arranged beside two small widgets and underneath or above a medium sized widget on each page. You can do this any way you'd like to!
That's really it! If you have any specific questions about this, let me know. I know it's a lot!
