“ … You brought trail mix to a bird sanctuary?” Thera stared for a second then couldn’t help laughing. “Way to win over the locals, right there!”

She tried not to snatch as she pulled out another Granola bar - by tradition, she was required to ask Sedna’s permission before hunting here, and she was asking the goddess enough as it was. She had supplies stored as well, but they were some distance away from where the two of them now sat.

Smiling again at the mention of JJ, she wolfed the bar down. “I almost wish JJ had been on this mission to begin with. She’s seen and knows enough to not fuck with mythology.” Mostly, at least. Unless it was really necessary. Thera paused a second, eyeing the bags of food once again.

“I wonder if choc chips would help appease a deity … gesture of goodwill, and all that.”

"Better than a taser to a tank fight," Ilona countered, a little defensively, but Thera had a point, "and if they'd given me more warning, I'd've had something better."

She nudged the bag closer to Thera-- looked like the other woman had had to skip a meal, or maybe two, in the process of dealing with this mess. "If JJ'd been here, this would have had a very, very different ending, because I'm pretty sure she would have physically dragged them off instead of letting them hoppity-skip on their own merry way.

"And if you think chocolate is a useful bribe, then go for it!" She wasn't sure if Thera was serious, but if anyone would know what would work and what wouldn't, it'd be her.

Nobody's lived here for a while. It's in pretty good shape, though. Shouldn't be any danger at all. Everything will be just fine.
