its heart time
Some people may call it a bad habit but I try to never throw anything out that I get as a gift. Even if it gets broken or used I can’t throw it away.
And that’s because when I was younger I rarely got to keep any of my gifts. That’s because my mother would have me give them to my sister.
This happened almost every Christmas in middle school.
6th grade I got several pairs of nice lounge pants and fuzzy socks. My sister got a nail polish kit. She complained and my mom told me to share. By March they were hers.
7th grade I got a very cool glitter lava lamp and a nice comforter. My sister got a full make up kit. She complained. Mom told me to give her one. I wanted to give her the comforter but she said she wanted the lamp. By February she had both.
8th grade I got a cd boombox. So did my sister….she leant it out to friend and never got it back. My mom told me to bring mine into the living room so we can all share.
By summer my sister leant it out to another friend and never got it back.
Birthdays were the same.
This continued until I started asking for money or art supplies.
So yeah I may have a bad habit, but can you blame me?
