With some quick, manual calibration I was able to get the projector output to line up very well with the infra-red trackables. This allowed for a very simple ‘paint’ program where users could paint on the table with the trackables. For this first session I used randomly generating colours to allow variation in the colour. Still, people had fun with the interface and enjoyed the tactile nature of the input method.
Hey guys!!! My robot project is done!!!!! (Well aside from if I can ever find a way to attach the IR filter to the front of the camera, and I need to add a power/status led, and I think I may to add a cooling fan).
But it's done enough that I can show the thing off! So if I can figure out how to record video with my webcam and get the thing to stand up right and show the robot, then I should have a video up late tomorrow night!
But I accomplished a thing! And I am proud of myself!!!
AR magic by Marco Tempest (of AR card magic) uses a small projector, camera and laptop to project on a moving target. Combines aspects of the laser tag and wiimote whiteboard and wiimote IR finger tracking.
