Servidor de email en linux?

Aquí algunos tips para la instalación de un servidor de email en linux con iRedMail, como sugerí en un post anterior iRedMail - Servidor de Mail

El primer requisito para la instalacion es tener un nombre de host FQDN para lo cual editamos el archivo /etc/hosts tiene que quedar algo como esto:

127.0.0.1 mail mail.[tuhostname] localhost

Despues de esto editamos el archivo /etc/hostname tiene que quedar algo como esto:

mail.[tuhostname]

Hecho esto reiniciamos hostname:

$ sudo service hostname restart

Ahora al ejecutar el siguiente comando se tiene que mostrar lo que definimos anteriormente en /etc/hostname:

$ hostname -f

Durante la instalación iRedMail hay que tener en cuenta un par de cosas: 1- Recordar todas las contraseñas que se ingresan. 2- Cuando se solicita el dominio, ingresar [tuhostname].

Luego es necesario configurar los registros DNS de tu servidor para que los emails no lleguen en spam. Agregar un nuevo registro de tipo TXT con la siguiente forma:

hostname | ip address / url / value               | record type | ttl     ---------  | ----------------------------------------- | -------------- | ---            @  | v=spf1 ip4:[tu_ip_publica] -all | txt               | 1800

Agregar un nuevo registro de tipo TXT con la siguiente forma

hostname              | ip address / url / value                  | record type | ttl    ---------------------  | ------------------------------------------- | -------------- | --- dkim._domainkey  | v=DKIM1; p=[tu_clave_publica] | txt               | 1800

La clave pública se puede obtener con el siguiente comando:

$ sudo amavisd-new showkeys

Copiar la parte v=DKIM1; p=[tu_clave_publica].

Cuando los registros DNS esten seteados, aproximadamente en 24hs despues ejecutamos el siguiente comando:

$ sudo amavisd-new testkeys

El resultado debe ser:

TESTING#1: dkim._domainkey.[tu_hostname] => pass

Hecho esto hay que reiniciar los algunos servicios:

$ service apache2 restart $ service dovecot restart $ service postfix restart

Después es necesario reiniciar el servidor. Espero haber sido de ayuda.

Hey it’s 1 am and I can’t sleep, let’s write a blog post

TL;DR: Go check out iRedMail if you are thinking about setting up your own mailserver and have some experience with linux (e.g. opening ssh sessions, adjusting file permissions, etc.).

I was recently migrating servers and I took the challenge of getting a linux server to do my bidding (Mail, Database, Web, etc.).

My past experiences with linux and mail servers have been HORRIBLE, so I was kinda scared of doing this.

After some looking around and finding some tutorials which require too much manual fixing, I have come across iRedMail.

It took me just 5 minutes to get a COMPLETE mail server with webinterface, webmail and even IPTables from a newly installed Ubuntu 12.04.
