I don’t talk much about Isaac’s early years in working for Aeon, which I should rectify as a great deal happened during those years.
One thing to note was that Isaac was taken into the Rift where Aeon could train him and help him acquire more skills and abilities that’d be useful on missions. Aeon felt it necessary that Isaac develop a resistance to as many poisons as possible, so frequently the food given to Isaac in the Rift in those days was loaded with poisons that nearly killed him or fully killed him. It was grueling for Isaac to endure but he understood the reasoning behind it.
Isaac is now able to withstand the usual dosages of nearly every poison out there (at least all the ones Aeon could find) without suffering from its effects. If he’s on a mission and there’s been a poisoning scare he’s the first one to volunteer to taste for it, not fearing for his life in the slightest.
It’s surprising that despite being subjected to so much poisoning in his short life Isaac’s appetite has diminished or been altered. Though he does give Aeon odd looks if he presents any sort of food or drink to Isaac, especially if Hermes was not the one to prepare it.

Because while there were so many questions here ( why are we on the run? what or who are we running from? should we be worried for our lives? is there a bounty on us? ), they all stemmed from the same fact: until a few moments ago, Flynn had been peacefully sleeping ( “peacefully”, while still in full armor, propped against a writing desk ). And Ally had not been. And had come back, insisting that they were on the run. Which lead to his posed query.
