“Don't.” He pulled away. “I need a minute.”

Nastasha searched for the right thing to say.

“We knew this could happen.”

She hated herself the moment the words left her mouth. He wasn’t going to take this well.

Hawkeye hung his head, ashamed to be emotional in front of her.

“We've been through so much together.”

“I’m sorry.” Nat stepped closer, hesitantly putting a hand on his arm, his muscles flexing at her touch. “I never meant for this. Can you forgive me?”

June of Doom Day 3: “Well, well, well…” | Hiding | Ambushed | Stalking | @juneofdoom

Summary: Pre Avengers. Hawkeye spots a familiar figure from a rooftop while on a mission, but is it a coincidence? small hint of doom

excerpt:

Seven hours on a hot tin roof and no sign of his target.

Dusk fell. Other snipers would change to night vision goggles at this point, but he was called Hawkeye for a reason.

He scanned the alley below, the activity beginning to dwindle as the temperature dropped.

A small, cloaked figure caught his attention.

Quick measured steps tread lightly over the pavement, looking from side to side as if knowing of being watched.

Suddenly, the figure stopped and looked up, a lock of red hair escaping the hood as she did.

“Well, well, well, look who’s walked back into my life.” Hawkeye murmured , adjusting his sights. “You and I have unfinished business, мой паук.”

Summary: Clint tries to explain Natasha’s Red Room programming to Steve. Looks like he’s going to have his hands full.

“Obey?” Steve blurted without thinking.

Whirling on her heels, Natasha snatched Clint's knife from his belt and lunged for Rogers. Thankfully, Barton was fast, grabbed both of her wrists from behind and hugged her close to his chest.

“Friendly, Natalia. Steve is our friend.”

“Why was he lurking?” She did not fight Clint but didn’t take her eyes off of Steve, either.

“To help me, just in case I couldn't get you back.”

She turned in his arms.

“You mean Natasha.” Jealousy dripped from every word.

Steve kept quiet. This alternate personality was aware of Natasha. He wondered if the reverse was the same.

Blood Stained Tiles

June of Doom Day 13: Wait! | Sacrifice | Adrenaline | Cornered | @juneofdoom

Summary: Pre-Avengers. The Black Widow has Hawkeye and he's hurt. SHIELD sends Phil Coulson to negotiate with her.

excerpt:

“Agent Coulson, they're both in there.” The SHIELD guard stood at attention as Phil walked up to the old commercial garage.

“Alive?”

“The Widow is, sir. We're not sure of Agent Barton.”

"Why is that?"

"She won't let us near him."

Coulson raised his eyebrows but asked nothing more. He nodded to the guards and entered the hallway, figuring it best to go to the source.

Seven dead bodies laid strewn about the corridor, all men, some SHIELD, some not. Blood splatter reached to the ceiling and the floor was littered with empty .45 casings.

Two sets of bloody footprints trailed down the hall, the larger looking as if dragged away. They continued to the garage bay. He followed them.

“Take another step and it'll be your last.” A female voice growled from a dark corner.

June of Doom Day 4: “Does that hurt?” | Impalement | Fracture | Punishment |

Summary: Pre-Avengers. The Red Room wants Hawkeye and they will use Natalia to get him. @juneofdoom REAL DOOM THIS TIME! :)

excerpt:

“You allowed him to follow you.” Dreykov towered over her, rage emanating from every pore.

“He was there before I arrived.” Natalia focused on his ugly tie, bracing for an outburst.

“And yet he got away. Sloppy.” He hovered, but did not punish her, yet.

“He is far more clever than we anticipated. One of his arrows disabled my widow bites.”

Dreykov began to circle, hands behind his back.

“You admire him.”

“He is a worthy opponent.”

Fix It!

June of Doom Day 12: “I can’t stand seeing you like this.” | Dehydration | Grief | Coma | @juneofdoom

Summary: Phytotoxicologist Dr. Clint Barton leaves his girlfriend in charge while he’s gone. It goes as well as expected.

Follow up piece to ‘I Pick My Poison and It’s You’, not necessary to read before this, but why not?

excerpt:

“This is different, you're usually the one leaving because of work. You up to this?” Clint asked while packing up his suitcase.

“Completely. Have fun at your conference.” Natasha gave him a soft, lingering kiss.

“That's not making me want to leave.” He tried to snake his arms around her but she playfully ducked away and laughed.

“You’re going to miss your plane. We’ll be fine for one week, go.”

Four days later—-------------------------------->

“James, get over here, they're dying!”

“What?” Bucky Barnes shot up in bed, fumbling with the phone, accidentally waking his husband, Steve. "What happened to Clint?"

"No, not Clint. The babies!"

"The babe…what…where are you?" Bucky checked the time, 6 a.m., on a Saturday.

"Clint's."

"Who's that?" Steve mumbled, sitting up.

"You're crush.” Bucky put the phone on speaker. “Nat, what the hell is going on?"

"I've killed them. He's going to hate me. Please come over.”

“It’s the weekend.”

“James!”

“Okay, okay, I’ll be right there.” He grumbled.

Are You Really Here?

June of Doom Day 7: “What happened?” | Nightmare | Isolation | Stumbling | @juneofdoom

Summary: Natasha helps Clint through a nightmare early in their partnership.

excerpt:

Natasha sat in the corner and watched Hawkeye roll over in the small bed of the safe house for the tenth time. The sheets were twisted and crumpled around his waist, a fine sheen of sweat covering his chest.

Over 36 hours without sleep, she thought he would have been out for days, but he grew more restless as the minutes passed. Clint moaned and began to talk in his sleep. One name was clear.

“Natasha.”

She leapt to his side and gently placed a hand on his arm.

“Hey.”

He called for her again, louder, more desperate.

“Nat.”

“I'm here.”

Clint's eyes flew open.

“Run.”
