I said I would post these freaks for halloween, and..... it's halloween!

Iris Easton, a well-practiced necromancer and high-ranking member of a cult secret society devoted to helping its members reach their full potential. As the world at large learns more about the supernatural and its possibilities every passing day.... well, you need something special if you are to thrive in this new world.

After their leader, Datura... passed on... in a conflict with the FBI, Iris took it upon herself to bring her back. Maintain the chain of command, even if the highest rank is to be filled by a reanimated thing. What Iris brought back... seemed to be similar enough to the real thing, albeit with some changes in perspective. It worked.

As long as she kept the secret, hid away the marks of Datura's death, it would work.

How the hell was she supposed to know that Datura, the real Datura (?), had found a way to come back on her own?

Now there are two of them! isn't that grand.

It's Make A Terrible Comic Day!!

My approach to being terrible is picking something super ambitious and doing it very rushed and while taking every possible shortcut. and also the only comic I could think to make was one I've been wanting to make for a while...

Chiaroscuro lets me cheat at backgrounds but then I have to/want to do complex shading

Datura's... organization performs a great many rituals intended to help its members reach their full potential, many enacted by Datura herself.

Enhanced focus, an expanded understanding of what you can accomplish, the mind guided along all the right pathways. It's euphoric, really.

It's perfectly natural, isn't it, that you would adore the person who granted you such a gift. Perfectly natural.

Iris was a girl scout back in her youth! Her family were fairly outdoorsy, and she was really interested in knife skills.

Granted, giving a knife to a young girl who was as interested in them as she was might not have been the best idea, but it was better than her snooping around the local boy scouts' meetings trying to listen in. Really, it was a great outlet for a strange, tomboyish bookworm obsessed with death, and something else for her to fixate on after some of the... unfortunate events in her family. Even if she held onto those traits longer than was really proper.

Some of her extended family took her out fishing a few times. She'd been really interested in marine biology at the time, and they were worried she'd end up crying when they had to cut up the cute little fish... but she was *very* enthusiastic about that part.

She hasn't been much for the outdoors since her teenage years, but a lot of the skills stuck with her. As did certain lessons about knife safety that STILL repeat in her head when she is breaking all of those rules.
