Dylan’s been working on circular paths for ship travel in Iron Rift, so we’re getting close to getting trading working. Also, yes, we’re back to IR now. :)

Hey, thanks to those people who started following us over the past few days. Thanks to the long-time followers and mutuals as well. And if you’re sitting there, watching, but not following, hit that button, it helps.
I should have some more news in a couple of days, these past few have just been a bit busy. I’ll check in with dylan and shaquin to see how they’re progressing, so. We should be back to regular programming (pun fully intended) in a day or two.
Motivation
Finally got Dylan motivated enough to get back to work on trading. He's been avoiding it recently, as he's been working on a keystroke-minimised programming language. IR is the priority though, so we really need to get back to work on that.
I think he looks at this page sometimes, so feel free to reblog and add something inspirational, or leave a reply/ask. :)
How about it?
2015 for Tachyon Entertainment
2015 is going to be exciting!
We've got Iron Rift, Smeef: The App, a secret new game, and we're also entering the Battlecode Competition!
Stay tuned!
Spiritual Succession
I like to think of Iron Rift as a successor of Quota 42 and Contract Miner. In Quota 42, you visited planets and stripped them dry, pretty much the same in Contract Miner (but that was in JavaScript and in 2D). It had a tech tree, same as IR, and hell, we even used the same name generator from Q42 as we did in Iron Rift.
It's a bit strange to think that Q42 was started at the beginning of 2014, and now it's basically 2015. So, wow, we've gone a long way with our ideas.
I think of Iron Rift as a refinement of the whole Q42 idea. You can go to planets around the whole randomly generated galaxy, but instead of stripping the planets dry and sending resources away to some war, you're benefiting all of these different factions that are constantly fighting all the time.
We've been doing a bit on Smeef: The App. I'll keep you all posted and hopefully update this Tumblr a bit more often.
Feel free to ask us anything you like, and if you're not following us already, you should totally do that right now.
Also! Hopefully soon, I will have a 3D printed model of a smeefling. The base is 10x10cm, and it'll be painted and up for sale for whomever wishes to show their support.
What a long post! This was fun. I must do this again sometime.
Iron Rift Development log number two!
Latest Versions
Dylan: Ok, I'm exporting the latest version for you to test.
(Done)
Micah: *loads up latest version*
Micah: Hmm, there seems to be a bug with the shipyard. You can place it when you click on the GUI.
Dylan: Oh, you've got an old version. I've fixed it in the latest version.
As the programmer, Dylan always gets the latest versions before I have a chance to test the latest one he's exported. At one point I had a weeks old version...
