After a day without contact with Matthew, Thancred grew worried. Another day passes, and Thancred fears for Matthew’s life. Since the conclusion of the First, the two never spent longer than a few days away from each other, and considering the situations they endured, the absence had meaning. The world they exist in now has no need to be amiss from each other’s lives.
Concerned for Matthew’s health, Thancred chooses to send a “text” through the phone that the little girl by the river showed him. Of course, his ability to text resembles a novice’s; regardless, he believes his message came across.
[TXT] This is Than credit. Your absence warrants concern. Please let know you all right. Sincerely, Than credit
The auto correct feature leaves much to desire, though it’s good enough. Shortly after the initial message, he sends a second text.
[TXT] Meet me at the big tree in Cotes Ward - Than credit
Thus, Thancred sits on a root under the large tree in the middle of the Cotes Ward, expecting to see his dear friend soon enough. Surrounding him is a diverse population of woodland creatures that pay him no mind. They hop, crawl, and fly as they would if Thancred didn’t exist. He doesn’t mind appreciating the peaceful moment. He leans against the trunk, looking up at the sky, spotting the sunlight that bleeds through the canopy. He lifts a hand to shield the rays from his vision.
“Alas, these woodlands compare little to the majestic forests of Gridania.”
