@irregularitiies // long starter call.
ray ( or x-ray as he’s now known ) had set out a plan to be the superhero this town needs, and with the help of his pal vav there was nothing the pair couldn’t do ( excluding, of course, the many things they couldn’t do ). they’d saved kittens from trees, accidentally blown up some people and failed an attempt to sneak into a building; they were the perfect superheroes. that is, until the pair broke up. they may not have been in a relationship, but half the time the way they bickered and acted could have just about anyone fooled.
after betrayal from his best friend and partner, x-ray decided that he had to continue his superhero work on his own. maybe not alone, but definitely without vav. his first option was dwayne, his pet rock, but people didn’t take them seriously. as much help as dwayne was, x-ray needed someone else’s help. someone slightly more capable than your average rock.
and so x-ray held auditions, looking for someone to help. hand-drawn signs hung up around town, pointing everyone to one corner of the park in hopes of finding the perfect superhero. he’d seen similar posters hung up by vav, but he just ignored those. his old partner was having his auditions in a high schools gym, like someone fancy and rude and who cares about a girl more than his own best friend. there was no way they’d see each other, and no way that anyone would prefer to go to some sad and fancy gym instead of a nice corner of the park.
as x-ray sits in the park, he perks up slightly at anyone that comes his way. most people walk past without a second glance, some stop and stare before leaving, and others laugh as they go past. one girl in particular just happens to sloe down slightly as she’s walking near him, and x-ray stands excitedly, deciding that this was someone that could want to be his partner in (stopping) crime.
“hello citizen! do you want to be a superhero? you sure came to the right place if you do!”
