YES RUMORS FOLLOW HIM. Hizashi doesn't stay at that base long, since it's not where his friends are, so luckily he doesn't have to deal with these people being weird around him. He ends up only staying a day before heading off again - and this time he's only 2 days away from his friends!
Honestly? Hizashi convinces himself it was a fever dream of some sort completely disregarding all the rumors and side eyes and stares from literally everyone and just keeps on going. And guess what he does as he gets closer to his friends?

The Angel is nearby when he hears the noise again and he can't help feeling smug. He's a genius with humans. So he heads towards the noise and there's the human again, walking along and making that pretty sound and -
No, wait, it's screaming. Hm. Maybe it needs more rest? The Angel is about to reach down to carry it back to the nearest settlement when it can hear a demon surfacing. Damn. Better take care of that before the human ends up in danger. He turns and starts towards the demon, hoping the human can rest up soon.
And Hizashi has to collapse under a tree because okay. Okay, maybe it wasn't a fever dream but if it wasn't why does this giant thing keep following him!?
