The anti-human sentiment on this comment section is sick, and the biggest reason why I can't stand the environmental movement anymore, even though I agree on most issues.
If you're one of the people who says these things, please think before you do next time.
You can insult yourself as much as you want, it's your right.
But you're calling every other person in the comment section, every person you've ever known, every person that works in zoos, conservation, anti-poaching, habitat restoration - you're calling them all "evil" and "parasites" and "cancer".
You're saying they all deserve to go extinct. Which always means children dying before they have a chance to grow up.
We have seen governments do horrible things in the name of "population control" and "good breeding". No, not just 1930s Germany. America, England and other countries very much did the same. Mass murder and forced sterilizations in the thousands. Using humans as guinea pigs.
That could only happen because the people let it happen. And we're no kinder or more "enlightened" today than in the 1920s or 60s or whenever. I will surely get some "tinfoil hat" comments now, but I can see something really terrible coming, if we don't shut it with the anti-human sentiment.
"We are parasites" "We must die out" "We must make people stop breeding" "There are too many of us"
If you want this put into practice, it can only be forced sterilizations (in the millions), or mass graves and lots of bullets. Maybe you don't care about some nameless, faceless strangers on the other side of the world. It's nothing to be ashamed of, we all have this to some extent.
But what if it's you? What if it's your child? What if it's your sister being dragged screaming and crying to surgery, or your brother kneeling before an empty mass grave?
Again, extinction always means that the children of the species all die before they've had a chance to reproduce.
Are you seriously advocating that?! I think not, I think you're just speaking out of unthinking passion for nature. But please think next time.
Every country has mistreated, murdered and abused its people, for the benefit of those in power.
Eugenics was really, really popular (again, not just in Germany). Now, anti-human sentiment in the name of environmentalism is really popular.
Nothing has changed.
Please don't let them do it again, in the name of whatever is popular at the time.
