Conclave drama is amazing. People really think that the movie portrays Catholicism in a bad light (lol, you and the tradcaths, baby, I guess you have something in common) and then act surprised that it has harnessed actual sympathy for the Church and the current Pope and Cardinals like the Filipino Tagle. Like, I am sorry but Diehz was inspired by Loyola and Saint Francis of Assisi, Edward Berger was very careful in saying that the movie wasn't anti Catholic, the movie's aesthetics double down on the whole "Catholicism is pretty" thing, the plot of the movie literally confirms Catholic belief that the Holy Spirit inspires Cardinals into voting for a leader, Lawrence has doubts but never thinks about leaving the Church (going to a Monastery is not leaving the Church, many Catholic priests fantasize about going to a monastery at one point or another) and finds his faith renewed by the election of Benítez..........Guys please.
