They're right, biggest sign of falling out of touch is being totally clueless of new big acts
Like who the fuck is Billie eilish, where did she come from. How did I hear nothing until I started seeing her everywhere.
I used to trawl nme (shite I know) and any music news, seeing what shows they'd be playing live on I could get my hands on. Now I'm the one in the dark.
Although I take solace in the that many of my up coming artists from back in the day are going strong.
Scary shite lads.
I remember I was friends with someone on the FATM forum who I'd swap music recommendations with every day. That kept me going for awhile (hope everything worked out for that kid, although they'd not be a kid anymore)
remember when i liked alec more than jace lmao
Part 8. Ah. I can respect that. But if what I am hearing is correct, you would be open to trying Wuju with different weapons, given the right situation and weapon? I only ask because I see so many new techniques with different weapons.
"Wuju is strictly a sword art by design, as the only restriction upon one's ability to perform that the weapon needs to be made almost completely of metal. I cannot go into detail as to why that is, but it is simply the case. I could pick up any sword, or even a bar of iron, and perform at least adequately. But yes, holding a new blade in hand and noting how it reacts to the Wuju style or any other technique is a fascinating thing, and that is perhaps why I collect so weapons."
Last night around 2:30am I went to the gas station to get food because I had to work at 3. I'm so used to locking the doors of my car when I get in, but the one time I didn't someone got in. He told me to give him all the money I had on me. I opened my wallet to show him I didn't have cash, only plastic, so he told me to drive to an ATM and withdraw $50. I did, and when I got back in I started driving to the police station. I reached for my phone, and he told me not to touch it. Once he saw the police station, he told me he had a gun. He yelled for me to turn right or he'd 'shoot me in the leg and take the money.' At exactly that point, I decided not to believe him.
Immediately, his desperation struck me. After a shouting match down Division, I pulled into a shell station at Division and Wealthy because there were people there. I told him to get out of my car before I changed my mind and ran into the gas station. I told him, "Everyone knows what it's like to feel desperate. I'm doing you a favor." All of a sudden, he went silent. It would have been more fitting to hear the sound of his act shattering. He looked at my eyes, with a docile, defeated look. I told him one more time, "I know what it's like to be desperate, too. Just get out now."
He left, didn't even run. He just walked away, and I don't think he let the experience change him. For whatever reason, I can't feel anything but empathy for him.
