Some facts about Gwi-Ma in my AU:

CW/TW: Mentions of child death, suicide, addiction, NPD, and obsessive and possessive behaviors. Reader discretion is advised

He was once a human: a member of a nomadic people during the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).

Left his family for an "outsider"; lone nomadic woman with no tribe (He was 15 yrs old)

He has a lot of trauma surrounding his human life; loss his wife to childbirth and was forced to watch as each of his children were killed one-by-one.

Is extremely uncomfortable around kids, more specifically babies. The first child he lost was his newborn daughter to starvation.

Mixture of Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder: Irrational need to be the center of everything and have control over everything and everyone. The fear of a lack of control is why he pushes so hard to keep demons in their shames and close to him.

Is actually deeply paranoid about being abandoned or alone (autophobia/monophobia).

Very much delusional (Grandiose and Jealous); under the belief that he is actually a good partner, husband, and father, of his family (none of these are true).

Could care less about the state of Magye (Demon Realm) and leaves the work of managing it to his advisors and Imperial Noble Consort.

Soul addict; demons don't need to eat souls. Eating souls only happens if one has become addicted to the taste and or power rush from the unfiltered energy. Gwi-Ma is completely addicted to the rush and taste of souls, it is why he creates demons and sends them off to collect them, it is to fuel his addiction.

Really, REALLY does NOT want to remember his human life. Uses the rush from souls to temporarily block out the shame, pain, and grief of losing his loved ones
